West Bengal Judicial Service Exam Result: The West Bengal Judicial Exam is one of the most distinguished exams. Like other judiciary exams, the West Bengal Judicial Service Exam is also divided into 3 phases, the prelims, the mains, and the interview rounds. The West Bengal Judicial Service Commission conducts the exam based on candidates' knowledge of the law, legal reasoning and judgment, and legal writing skills. The preliminary exam is a qualifying stage whereas the marks scored in both mains and interviews are combined for the preparation of the merit list.

The final result of the West Bengal Judicial Service is released. Candidates can check out their results on the official website of the West Bengal Service Commission. There were only 29 vacancies under this post. Candidates belonging to unreserved categories have occupied majority of vacancies. Candidates of reserved categories OBC/SC/ST/  are fewer in number. Around 4-5 vacancies are filled by OBC candidates while SC/ST candidates have gotten only 2-3 seats.

West Bengal Judicial Service Exam 2022 Final Merit List

The West Bengal Judicial Service Exam Result 2024 merit list is prepared based on marks secured in the mains and the interview rounds. The prelims is a qualifying exam and is not considered during the preparation of the merit list. The West Bengal Judicial Service Exam Final Merit List 2024 is prepared on the basis of number of vacancies, applicants, difficulty level of the examination, and candidates in respective categories. To get on the merit list candidate must clear all the stages of the exam with excellent marks. Each stage has different qualifying requirements. These are discussed below.
  • Preliminary Examination: The prelims of the West Bengal Judicial Service include a total of 200 objective questions. Candidates have to complete the exam in 180 minutes. Each question is allotted 1 mark. This is a qualifying exam and the marks obtained in this section will not be considered for the final selection.
  • Mains Examination: The West Bengal Judicial Service Mains exam is entirely descriptive. Candidates have to practice the skill of answer writing before appearing for it. A total of 11 sections are included in this exam with 8 compulsory sections and 3 optional sections. The compulsory and optional sections will have a total of 100 marks. Candidates have to maximize their marks to get placed in the final merit list.
  • Interview Rounds: After qualifying for the prelims and the mains examination, candidates appear for the interview rounds. This is the last stage of the selection process. The candidates are evaluated based on their personality, knowledge, and applicability of law in practical situations. The candidates are allotted marks out of 100.
  • Medical Test: After qualifying the interview rounds, candidates are selected for the West Bengal Judicial Service post. According to the West Bengal Judicial Service Commission, candidates are required to perform the medical test and present the report to the authority before the joining date.
