CLAT 2025 Merit List

CLAT 2025 Merit List: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has been released the CLAT 2025 Third Merit List on 20 June 2025, on the official website at 10 AM. Candidates can download the merit list from www.consortiumofnlus.ac.in. However, the seat allotment is provisional. To confirm their seats, candidates have to pay the seat acceptance fee between 20 to 23 June 2025, till 1 PM and the university fee by 27 June 2025, 5 PM. Along with the third merit list, the Consortium will also announce the cutoff for the third round of counselling.

The CLAT revised counselling schedule, along with the CLAT revised result 2025, was declared on 17 May 2025. The Consortium has already completed two rounds of counselling after publishing the merit list for each round.

This list determines eligibility for seat allotment in participating NLUs and is important for the counselling process. The CLAT 2025 was held on 1 December 2025, following the declaration of results on 7th December 2025.

Preparation of CLAT 2025 Merit List

CLAT 2025 Tie Breaker Rule

The CLAT 2025 tie-breaker rule is applied when two or more candidates obtain the same overall marks in the CLAT exam. The tie is resolved in the following manner. 

  • First, the candidate with higher marks in the Legal Aptitude section of CLAT 2025 is given preference.
  • If the tie persists, the older candidate (higher age) is ranked higher.
  • If the tie remains unresolved, a computerised draw of lots is conducted to determine the rank.

CLAT 2025 Counselling and Seat Allotment

The CLAT 2025 Revised Counselling and Seat Allotment process began on 17 May 2025 after the announcement of CLAT revised results. The counselling registration window will be open till 21 May 2025. Candidates who have already registered are not required to register again. The first seat allotment (merit) list will be published on May 26, 2025. After each allotment round, candidates can choose to freeze (accept), float (wait for a better option), or exit the process, and must pay the required confirmation fees within set deadlines to secure their seats.
