CLAT Counselling 2025 has concluded. On June 2025, the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) started the third round of CLAT counselling 2025 after announcing the CLAT third merit list today at 10 AM on its official website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Candidates who have been shortlisted are required the pay the seat confirmation fee by 23 June 2025, 1 PM, and the university fee by 27 June 2025, 5 PM.
The counselling takes place in three rounds. After each round of counselling, the Consortium publishes the merit lists. The Consortium of NLUs has completed two rounds of CLAT UG counselling 2025, and the third is the final round.
The registration for CLAT 2025 counselling closed on 21 May 2025 at 5 PM. The counselling registration commenced immediately following the release of the CLAT revised results on May 17, 2025, as directed by the Supreme Court and Delhi High Court to address discrepancies in the original answer key. Candidates with valid revised scores could register for counselling through the official CLAT portal.
The CLAT revised counselling for UG 2025 has officially begun after the declaration of the CLAT revised result 2025. Shortlisted candidates can register for counselling and update their NLU preferences online until May 21, 2025, at 5:00 PM. The process is entirely online, and those who had previously registered do not need to re-register, while new qualifiers must complete the registration and pay the counselling fee. How to Register for CLAT 2025 Counselling?
Using their CLAT credentials, candidates have to register on the official website and register themselves for the counselling. Here’s how candidates can register for CLAT 2025 counselling.
Go to the official CLAT 2025 portal on the Consortium of National Law Universities website and use your credentials to log in.
Log in to your CLAT 2025 account and validate the invitation for CLAT counselling 2025.
Select a minimum of 15 preferred NLUs where you wish to be considered for admission, reviewing programs and seat availability before finalizing.
After updating your preferences, click the “Make Payment” button.
Provide the bank details into which the refund will be processed after the counselling.
Upon successful payment, a "Payment Successful" message confirms your registration for the CLAT 2025 Counselling Process.

CLAT 2025 Counselling NLU Preference List
The NLU preference list is a mandatory list of National Law Universities (NLUs) that candidates provide during CLAT 2025 counselling registration, indicating the NLUs where they wish to be considered for admission. Candidates will only be considered for admission to the NLUs they include on this list. They are required to provide 15 NLU preferences. Giving maximum preferences will increase the chances of admission.

CLAT 2025 Counselling Instructions on NLU Preferences
In CLAT 2025, candidates who are invited for the counselling process are required to fill in their NLU preference at the time of counselling registration after the results are declared. Now that the CLAT 2025 revised results are out, the Consortium has given the following instructions regarding NLU preference.
Candidates who have been shortlisted for the CLAT counselling process before and have been invited for the CLAT revised counselling after the declaration of revised CLAT results, can update their NLU preferences, if they want. They have to update their preference before the registration ends.
Candidates who had qualified for the CLAT counselling according to previous CLAT results (and have been shortlisted for the CLAT revised counselling as per new results), but did not complete their registration, can also complete registration by filling in the NLU preferences.
As per the updated CLAT results, candidates who have been shortlisted for counselling must login to the official website of Consortium and fill in their NLU preferences.
Candidates can review the following steps to get a full refund of the CLAT Counselling Fees 2025.
In cas if any candidate is not allotted any seat at the end of the 5th counselling round, or he/she has not selected the "Freeze/Float" option and has existed the counselling process, candidate will get the full refund of CLAT counselling fee 2025.
If a candidate has been allotted a seat, and has selected the Float or Freeze option, and then subsequently chooses to Exit or fails to complete their admission at the chosen NLU by paying their fees then their CLAT Counselling Registration Fee will be refunded in full, if the Exit option is exercised before last date. If the Exit option is exercised after the last date, a deduction of Rs 5,000/- (Rupees Five thousand only) will be made.
Where a candidate is allotted a seat for the first time in the 5th round of CLAT counselling, and the candidate chooses to exit or fails to complete their admission at the NLU by paying their fees, he/she will get a full refund of the CLAT Counselling Fee 2025.
In case any NLU finds a candidate not suitable for admission based on verification of documents/information provided by them, an amount of INR 5,000 will be deducted, and the remaining CLAT Counselling Registration Fee will be refunded.
Refunds will be facilitated to the same account from which the CLAT Counselling Registration Fee was paid.
Candidates have to ensure that their given bank accounts are functional during the counselling process and the refund process.
Requests to settle refunds to another account will not be entertained.
The Confirmation Fee paid by any candidate shall be adjusted against the fees payable at the NLU where a candidate has secured admission. If a candidate chooses the Exit Option, or fails to pay the fees due at the NLU within the prescribed date, or is found ineligible by an NLU based upon the verification of documents/information provided by them, the CLAT Confirmation Fee shall not be refunded.
