Baby IIMs Selection Criteria 2025
The Baby IIMs follow a common selection process for MBA admissions known as the IIM Common Admission Process (IIM CAP). This process is typically conducted between February and March every year and it serves as the gateway for securing a seat in Baby IIMs. For 2025, IIM Bodh Gaya will be hosting the IIM CAP. Candidates must meet the CAT cut-off set by their preferred baby IIM to be eligible for the selection process. Here are the key parameters of the selection process at Baby IIMs:- CAT Exam Score : Baby IIMs set their separate sectional and overall CAT cut-offs to shortlist deserving candidates for further evaluations.
- Academic Profile and Diversity : Besides CAT scores, Baby IIMs also consider candidates’ academic records up to graduation. To maintain balance and promote diversity, female candidates with exceptional scores get extra weightage during the selection process.
- Work Experience : Although work experience is not mandatory to apply at Baby IIMs, candidates having professional experience after the UG program get preference. Typically, applicants with 2–3 years of relevant professional experience can earn 5–10% additional weightage in the selection process.
IIM CAP 2025 Admission Process
The IIM Common Admission Process (CAP) 2025 is a centralized selection process for MBA admissions at participating Baby IIMs. Here’s an overview of the key steps involved:Independent Shortlisting by Each IIM
Every participating IIM independently shortlists candidates based on their individual criteria. Each institute selects nearly 10 to 12 times the number of available seats for MBA admissions. Thus a single candidate may get multiple calls as per the selection criteria of several IIMs.Submission of Shortlists to CAP Coordinating IIM
Each IIM sends the details of shortlisted candidates to the IIM coordinating the CAP 2025 process. For 2025, IIM Bodh Gaya will administer the CAP round. Further, the coordinating IIM will compile the lists from all participating institutes to create a final set of candidates eligible for CAP 2025.Personal Interview (PI) Process
The CAP 2025 assessment round will consist solely of a Personal Interview (PI). All the candidates who received call letters for CAP must participate in the PI round on the specified date. After the conclusion of the PI rounds, IIM Bodh Gaya will evaluate the performance of all the candidates and prepare CAP scores.
