CMAT Score Normalisation Process 2024: CMAT score normalisation is a process of allotting marks to test takers in an unbiased way. As CMAT exam was held on 15 May 2024 in two sessions, difficulty level of questions in both the slots may slightly vary. To prevent any undue favour to candidates in one slot, NTA uses the CMAT score normalisation process 2024.
According to the score normalisation in CMAT, candidates across all sessions are rated on the same scale. This process considers the difficulty level of a session when providing marks to candidates.CMAT Score Normalisation Process 2024
The NTA will follow the normalisation process based on percentile score to address variations in the difficulty level of question papers across different CMAT slots. After ensuring the number of candidates across different CMAT shifts, their percentile scores are calculated separately for each shift. Candidates who attempted CMAT Shift 1 will have their percentile calculated independently from those in Shift 2. The resulting percentile score is the candidate's normalised score. This score is also referred to as the NTA score and is provided in the merit list. The aim of the CMAT 2024 normalisation process is to accurately reflect each candidate's merit and provide a fair evaluation platform. Distribution of Candidates for CMAT Score Normalisation
NTA equally distributes all the candidates who register for CMAT across different slots. CMAT typically consists of 2 slots. However, NTA increases the number of slots, provided more candidates register for CMAT. Result Preparation for CMAT Score Normalisation
To prepare the CMAT result 2024 using the normalisation process, the NTA selection commission equally divides all candidates into two sessions. This minimises the risk of bias due to the large number of test takers across the country. To create CMAT results 2024, NTA considers the following aspects:- Candidates' raw scores
- Percentile scores of total raw scores
CMAT Percentile Score Calculation
The CMAT percentile score represents the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or below a particular candidate in the CMAT exam. Consequently, the highest scorers in each session receive a 100 percentile. Scores between the highest and lowest are converted to corresponding percentiles. CMAT Result using CMAT Score Normalisation
