Failure to meet document requirements will result in cancellation of admission.
The selection process at IIM Sirmaur comprises two stages. These are:
Shortlisting for PI: Candidates meeting the minimum CAT 2024 cut-offs are invited to participate in the CAP round, which includes WAT and PI.
Final Selection: Candidates are selected based on the composite score that is calculated based on CAT score, academic performance, WAT, PI, work experience, gender diversity, and a bonus trailblazer score.
To create the final merit list for MBA admissions, IIM Sirmaur evaluates candidates based on a composite score out of 100. The institute also provides an additional 5 bonus marks for specific academic or professional qualifications.
The following explains how each criterion is considered for computing the composite score:
The candidate’s CAT 2024 score carries 30% weightage in the final composite score calculation.
This score is divided into three sections: Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (40%), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (35%), and Quantitative Aptitude (25%).
Each section’s score is normalized using the formula:
Scaled Score=(Candidate’s Score/Highest CAT Score)×Section Weightage
Marks obtained in the Written Ability Test round, conducted during the Common Admission Process, carry 10% weightage in the final score. Candidates’ performance is evaluated based on clarity, logic, grammar, and relevance of ideas expressed in the written essay.
The Personal Interview, conducted during CAP, accounts for 20%weighted for the composite score calculation. The PI round assesses a candidate’s confidence, communication skills, knowledge, and overall personality.
Each candidate’s academic scores from Class 10, Class 12, and graduation are allotted a combined 15% weightage. Marks are assigned based on percentage brackets. Candidates with a higher academic score get more marks.
Full-time, paid work experience carries 20% weightage. Applicants with 24-35 months of experience get a full score of 20. However, those with less than 12 months of experience don’t get any score.
To promote gender balance, female and transgender candidates are awarded 5 additional marks under this criterion.
Candidates holding specific professional qualifications or degrees receive an extra 5 bonus marks. Academic background considered for the trailblazer bonus marks include degrees like MBBS, B.Tech, B.Pharm, B.Arch, and professional certifications like CA, CS, or CMA.
