PW CAT 2024 Toppers: The CAT 2024 results were officially released on December 19, 2024. Over 5 students from PW MBA Online Coaching cracked the CAT 2024 by scoring 99+ percentile. Gyara Yagnavalkya and Shubham Rana entered the 99.9 percentile achievers group by securing 99.95 and 99.94 percentile, respectively. Gyara Yagnavalkya CAT Preparation Strategies

• At the beginning of CAT preparation, Yagnavalkya used to study for 3-4 hours every day for CAT. During these hours, he used to dedicate 1.5 hours to QA and LRDI. For the remaining time, he used to read  AEON essays, articles, etc. Additionally, he practised with sectional questions to improve his problem-solving skills.
• Until August, Yagnavalkya read 1 AEON essay every day, and from September, he focused more on solving questions.
• Yagnavalkya also prioritised mock tests to understand the exam pattern and marking system. He attempted his first PW mock test in May. When Yagnavalkya started taking CAT mocks, he struggled to score good marks. However, with consistent practice, he strengthened his weak sections and eventually started scoring good marks in mock tests.
• In total, Yagnavalkya attempted nearly 25-30 CAT mock tests. In the beginning, he attempted 1 mock every week, and as the CAT exam day approached, he consistently attempted 2 mocks every week.
• He joined the PW MBA Pro batch to strengthen his CAT preparations. Recorded video lectures provided by PW helped Yagnavalkya effectively revise key concepts of the CAT syllabus and resolve doubts.

Shubham Rana CAT Preparation Strategies

• Being from an engineering background, Shubham's mathematics was good. However, he gave equal attention to all the sections. In the beginning of CAT preparation, Shubham set a strategy to solve 20 questions in QA and LRDI sections and read AEON essays and articles from newspapers every day.
• He started practising mocks from the beginning, and initially, he used to take CAT mock tests every Sunday. After solving mocks, he used to analyse his performance and focus on weak sections to improve comprehension and problem-solving skills.
• To improve the LRDI section, Shubham solved the last 10 years’ CAT LRDI questions. Additionally, he used to attempt every question that he could find online.
• Shubham relied heavily on PDFs of CAT practice questions. As CAT is an online exam, he found solving online questions more effective than practising through physical sample papers.
• When attempting LRDI questions during CATY preparation, Shubham used to skim through the p[assage to get an idea about the topic of the set. Further, he used to select the sets for which he was confident. Using this strategy, Shubham was able to dedicate his time to solving only those questions that helped him score marks and avoid the sets where he could get negative marks.
