Maharashtra Talent Search Examination 2025

HKIMO, also known as the Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad, was created by Mr. Wong Tin Chun, who was the former Team Leader of the Hong Kong Mathematical Olympiad Team.

The aim of developing HKIMO is to foster the appreciation of Mathematical Olympiad worldwide.

HKIMO Heats are held at the national level to uncover Mathematical talent that may subsequently qualify to compete in the HKIMO Finals in Hong Kong.

HKIMO 2025

HKIMO, which stands for "Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad", is organized by the Olympiad Champion Education Centre based in Hong Kong. 

Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad (HKIMO) examination is organized for students in grades KG-12. Students from across the world are allowed to take part in the exam.

HKIMO examination is organized in 2 levels, namely HKIMO Heat Round and HKIMO Final for grades KG-12. The exam is conducted exclusively in online mode.

The HKIMO 2025 exam is conducted with the purpose of establishing a platform for all Math enthusiasts worldwide to unite for educational and cultural sharing. Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad aims to cultivate students’ enthusiasm for the Mathematical Olympiad and to advance the Mathematical Olympiad globally.

HKIMO paper includes 5 primary topics: Logical Thinking, Arithmetic (Kindergarten / Primary Section) / Algebra (Secondary Section), Number Theory, Geometry, and Combinatorics.

HKIMO 2025 Registration

  • School/Institutions can register their students OR  

  • Parents/Students can register individually/privately.

Registration for the HKIMO Heats round (Country level round) via G.O.A. is available solely for students in India. The last date for HKIMO 2025 Registration for Heat (Country Level Round) is 11th May 2025. 

 Registrations for the HKIMO Finals for qualified students (Award winners from the Heats round) will begin after the results of the HKIMO Heats round are announced by the end of June 2025.

Note: Students receive HKIMO past papers access with answer keys on registration for many Olympiads. This will be assigned as a course to you under the “My Courses” section of this website when you login to the account.

HKIMO Application Fee

Rs. 1800 for each participant (student). Discounts are offered for multiple competitions or several entries.

Fees cover: Access to a selection of past papers and answer keys in downloadable soft copies.

Login details for the online exam, along with the schedule and exam instructions, will be sent via email after registrations conclude one week prior to the exam.

Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad Eligibility

The Hong Kong International Mathematics Olympiad (HKIMO) is open to students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. 

  • Grade Levels: Students studying in grades K.G to 12 are eligible to participate in both the HKIMO Heats Round and the Final.

  • Participation: Students can register individually or through their schools. For Indian students, registration for the Heats round must be done via the Global Olympiads Academy website.

  • Competition Levels: The competition consists of two levels:

    • Heats Round: This is the initial round where all participants compete.

    • Final Round: Only those who achieve a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Award in the Heats Round or perform well in the Depth of Knowledge Assessment (DOKA) are invited to this round.

HKIMO Exam Pattern 2025

The HKIMO competition consists of two levels:

  • Level 1 (Heats): Conducted online, lasting 90 minutes.

  • Level 2 (Finals): Held offline in Hong Kong, with a duration of 120 minutes.

  • Total Score: 100 points

HKIMO Awards and Recognition 

HKIMO recognizes students based on their performance in two main rounds: the Heats and the Finals. The awards are categorized as follows:

  • Gold Award: 80th percentile and above

  • Silver Award: 60th percentile and above

  • Bronze Award: 40th percentile and above

  • Merit Award: 20th percentile and above

In addition to these awards, special recognitions include:

  • Champion Trophy for the overall winner

  • 1st Runner-up Trophy

  • 2nd Runner-up Trophy

  • World Star Trophy for the highest scorer(s) from each region or country.

All award winners receive certificates, with medals awarded to Gold, Silver, and Bronze recipients. Participation certificates are given to all other participants.
