International Earth Science Olympiad 2025: The International Geoscience Education Organization (IGEO) is responsible for conducting the International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO). This is to enhance the knowledge of students about Earth Sciences.

IESO is conducted to bring awareness to topics related to Earth Sciences. It is a prestigious olympiad for senior secondary students. A great opportunity is for the students to highlight the talent participating in such an international-level olympiad conducted every year.

International Earth Science Olympiad 2025

IESO 2025 is organized in Ji’ning, China. The registration process is started and the last date to complete the registration is on 31st May 2025. International Earth Science Olympiad is a globally organized educational event for senior secondary students.

The purpose is to organize the olympiad to promote knowledge related to Earth Science among the students. IESO is an annual event conducted by a different country. The prestigious is scheduled to be held in Ji’ning Confucius School, located in Ji’ning, China. The event dates for IESO are from 7th August 2025 to 17th August 2025.

Stages Of International Earth Science Olympiad

There are different stages in the IESO exam selection process. Students have to participate in all the selection stages and qualify them. It is to become eligible as a participant in the international Earth Science Olympiad. 

Stage 1 National Entrance Level Test (ET): Students knowledge is assessed in subjects geology, geophysics, meteorology, oceanography, astronomy, and environmental science. It is important to qualify for the National Entrance Level Test (ET) to enter the next selection stages of IESO). 

Stage 2 Join the Indian National Earth Science Olympiad (INESO) Training Camp: A training camp is organized for students. It is helpful for them to gain knowledge through the field trips, data analysis, lectures, and interactions. The top performing students in INSEO training camp can participate in the next stages of selection process. 

Stage 3 Attend Pre-Departure Training Camp: Students have to join the pre-departure training before going to the ISEO Olympiad. The training camp is helpful to know about cultural and knowledge exchange lectures are conducted. 

Stage 4 Participate In International Earth Science Olympiad: The final stage is participating in IESO. There is a different country chosen every year to organize the IESO Olympiad. The 2025s IESO Olympiad is organized in Ji’ning, China.

International Earth Science Olympiad is an international event organized every year to showcase the talent of the students in Earth Science-related concepts. An olympiad is conducted through the offline modes covering subjects such as Geology, Geophysics, Meteorology, Oceanography, Terrestrial Astronomy, and Environmental Science.

International Earth Science Olympiad Eligibility

Students should meet the minimum eligibility requirements to participate in the International Earth Science Olympiad. Therefore the eligibility conditions for participants include:

• The age criteria is that the student should be before or on the date of 1st July 2025. 

• IESO Olympiad is for the students studying in classes 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th. 

• A student should not be older than 18 years of age. 

IESO Registration 2025

• Each participating country in IESO 2025 should have a team of 4 students with two mentors. 

• The team have 6 guest members and 10 observers coming for the event. 

• Team leaders are requested to complete the registration process of the mentors and students together.

•  The IESO authorities decided to provide the registration link to the mentor’s email address. 

IESO Registration Fee

• The registration fee includes the expenses of accommodation, meals and transportation incurred during the event. 

• Teachers can apply for the upgrade of accommodation after paying additional fees. 

• All travelers should cover other travel expenses including health insurance.
