Describe a Polluted Place Sample Answer 1

Read the first sample, which asks you to "Describe a Polluted Place." You can include some of these details in your answer to the question.

Where the place is?

Pollution is continuously becoming one of the most persistent challenges, with levels rising at an alarming rate around the world. As far as I know, there is hardly a human-touched location on Earth that is free of pollution. To avoid going too far, I'd like to discuss the neighboring city, Ambala, which is the most dirty. Ambala is a town city in Haryana that is divided into two parts: the city and the cantonment region.

When did you visit this place?

I last visited Ambala in January of 2023. Residents in Ambala experience different health problems as a result of pollution, including air, water, and noise pollution.

What kind of pollution did you see there?

Ambala, although being a small town, is overpopulated. As a result, traffic is constantly at its worst here. While constant shouting disturbs one's peace of mind, pollutants released by a wide range of automobiles on the road affect general breathing health for people of all ages.

And explain how this place was affected.

Furthermore, some business owners have established factories near residential areas, resulting in a large amount of waste all around. My most recent visit was one of the worst, as the pollution produced a major eye infection that took nearly six months to heal.

Describe a Polluted Place Sample Answer 2

This sample answer is going to help you in mastering the IELTS cue card "Describe a Polluted Place".

Where the place is?

There are very few areas in the world that are free of pollution. Almost everyone admits that pollution levels are increasing at a rapid speed all around the globe.

When did you visit this place?

I traveled to Kanpur, India's formerly Manchester, a few weeks ago, for my cousin's wedding.

What kind of pollution did you see there?

Since I only stayed for three days, the pollution and traffic jams made for a bad time. On our journey to the wedding location, we got stuck in traffic for over 3 hours. The formation of automobile emissions and dust has polluted Kanpur's air to the point where the AQI is concerned.

And explain how this place was affected.

Known as one of India's most populated cities, everyone has a car or bicycle and is always going back and forth. While driving, trucks, buses, and tractors emit significantly more pollution than their capacity. The majority of residents of cities struggle with asthma and respiratory problems as a result of air pollution. As a result, Kanpur needs special attention to reduce AQI values.

Describe a polluted place FAQs

Q1 - How do you survive a polluted city?

Ans - It is therefore important to make an investment in a good air purifier and filter that cleans the interior air. When using an air purifier, it is best to turn it off on a regular basis and open the windows for at least 10 minutes in each room. It enables pollutants from yesterday to leave while bringing in somewhat fresher air.

Q2 - What happens when an area is polluted?

Ans - Air pollution has an impact on everything. It harms human health and the environment by lowering vision and blocking sunlight, generating acid rain, and damaging forests, wildlife, and agriculture. Greenhouse gas pollution, which causes climate change, has a global impact.

Q3 - Can you recover from air pollution?

Ans - If the air quality is particularly poor, it may take a long time for your body to recover. And if you are frequently exposed to high amounts of impure air, the health impacts might last for months or even years.

Q4 - Is polluted air harmful?

Ans - Short- and long-term contact with air pollution can cause different diseases, including stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, trachea, bronchus, and lung cancers, increased asthma, and lower respiratory infection.
