IELTS Fees in New Zealand: IELTS is a popular English test in New Zealand. You must pay a fee to take the test. The fee amount can change depending on the test center. Most IELTS tests in New Zealand cost around NZ$445 to NZ$460. This price includes GST. You can choose to take the test on paper or on a computer. You must pay when you book or within two days. Some centers also give free practice materials after you book.

IELTS Fees in New Zealand: Overview

The IELTS fee is NZ$460.00 (including GST). You must pay when you apply or within two days after applying online. The application will tell you how to pay. When you book the test at Unitec, you get free IELTS sample materials. You also get access to an online training course with up to 25 hours of practice in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. If you want, you can buy a DVD version of the sample materials. It costs NZ$50.00 and is sold at the Building 170 Mt Albert Campus reception. All payments are in New Zealand dollars and include GST.
  • IDP Test Centres (e.g., Auckland): NZD 460 for both IELTS Academic and General Training, available on paper or computer.

  • British Council Test Centres (e.g., Manukau Institute of Technology): NZD 445 for both IELTS Academic and General Training.

Is There a Fee for Late Bookings?

For IELTS, there are no extra costs for late booking. We understand that there are situations when you need to sit for a test and have your results quickly. You can book your IELTS test up to 72 hours before it.

Cancellations or Postponements Fees

You can cancel your IELTS test and obtain a refund if you contact us at least five weeks before the scheduled test date. The administration cost is $80.00. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made five weeks or less before the test date. Unfortunately, we cannot make exceptions due to visa or travel issues.

Postponement

You can reschedule your IELTS Exam 2024 if you inform us five weeks or more before the scheduled time. There is an administrative cost of $80.00. No postponements are permitted five weeks or fewer before the test date.

What if I'm absent or sick on the test day?

If you miss the test without telling anyone, you will lose all your money. But if you give a medical certificate within five days after the test, you can get a refund, but $80 will be taken as a fee. To cancel or change your test date, contact the IELTS Test Center at ielts@unitec.ac.nz or call +64 9 892 8668.
