AP TET 2026 Exam Date has been announced by the authority on the official website. The entrance test for the teaching profile will begin on August 5 to August 21, 2026. Candidates who will fill out the form correctly before the deadline will be able to appear for the exam. 

AP TET Application Form 2026

AP TET Application Form 2026 link is live for the candidates from June 5 to July 5, 2026. Candidates should visit the official website to fill out the details in the application form carefully and make the fee payment of Rs. 1000 per paper. A Journal Number is generated to proceed with the application only after the fee payment. Candidates should complete the application process early, avoiding any last-minute issues on the deadline, i.e. July 5, 2026.

AP TET Eligibility Criteria 2026

AP TET Eligibility Criteria 2026 has been notified in the official notification for the candidates. Candidates need to meet the minimum requirements to appear in the AP TET 2026 exam. 

For Paper 1A (Classes I to V - Regular Schools)

  • Intermediate or Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks (45% for SC, ST, BC, and PwBD candidates) along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

  • For candidates who completed qualifications before 2011, a minimum of 45% marks in Intermediate (40% for reserved categories) is required.

For Paper 1B (Classes I to V - Special Schools)

  • Intermediate or Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) and a 2-year D.Ed. Special Education or an approved equivalent qualification from the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

For Paper 2A (Classes VI to VIII - Regular Schools)

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks (45% for SC, ST, BC, and PwBD candidates) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree.

  • For Language Teachers, at least 50% marks in Graduation with the concerned language as an optional subject, or a Graduation in Literature, alongside a B.Ed or Language Pandit Training certificate.

For Paper 2B (Classes VI to VIII - Special Schools)

  • Minimum 50% marks in Graduation or Post-Graduation (45% for reserved categories) alongside a B.Ed. Special Education or a General B.Ed. with an approved RCI special education diploma.

AP TET Selection Process 2026

AP TET Selection Process 2026  relies entirely on a single-stage competitive objective examination. There is no face-to-face interview stage. 

  • Qualifying for the AP TET grants an eligibility certificate.

  • A 20% weightage is given to the candidate's AP TET score. 

  • The remaining 80% weightage is given to the score achieved in the Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT). 

AP TET 2026 Syllabus

AP TET 2026 Syllabus focuses on checking critical thinking, creative thinking, and conceptual understanding up to the secondary school level. The key core components are:

  • Child Development and Pedagogy: Growth and development, theories of personality, learning, educational psychology, and counselling.

  • Language I: Tests structural elements, communication ability, and pedagogical methods of the chosen regional language.

  • Language II (English): Evaluation of basic comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and English teaching methods.

  • Core Electives: Mathematical operations, environment concepts, social studies data, or specialisation in disability concepts, depending on the paper selected.

  • SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen: 40% and 60 Marks and above
