Final-Year Status: Candidates currently studying or pursuing the final semester/year of their professional teaching programs (like D.El.Ed, B.Ed, or equivalent) are permitted to take the exam.
The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) application form has been open on the official website for the June 2026 Cycle. The AP TET examination is conducted for regular schools as well as special schools. In regular schools, candidates can apply for Class 1 to V and Class VI to VIII for AP TET. Note: For Paper 1B and Paper 2B, only qualifications recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) will be accepted. In-service teachers serving in government and private aided institutions are exempted from the standard eligibility criteria as per the Supreme Court judgment in Civil Appeal No. 1385/2025.
To be eligible as a language teacher, candidates must have completed their graduation with the concerned language as one of their optional subjects. Alternatively, they could have a Bachelor’s degree in Oriental Language or its equivalent, or have completed their graduation in Literature. Candidates with a Post-Graduation degree in the concerned language and a Language Pandit Training Certificate or a B.Ed with the concerned language as one of their methodologies are also eligible.
The candidates must be 18 years and above to become eligible for the AP TET Exam 2026. There is no upper AP TET Age Limit as per the AP TET Eligibility Criteria 2026. The candidates must ensure they are 18 years or above to apply for the AP TET Exam 2026.
