BEd teaches you how to teach classes from 6th to 12th grade, and it takes about two years to complete. The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to assess the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in schools across India, from Class I to VIII. CTET comprises two papers: Paper-I for teaching in primary classes (Class I to V) and Paper-II for teaching in upper primary classes (Class VI to VIII).

CTET Educational Qualification 2024

The CTET Educational Qualification to appear for the CTET exam is determined by NCTE. As per the latest CBSE guidelines, CTET Educational Qualification is divided into two papers i.e. Paper I and Paper II. Candidates must meet the educational qualification criteria for the CTET 2024 July before applying. Below are the detailed CTET educational qualification criteria for Paper 1 (Classes 1 to 5):

Diploma in Elementary Education Candidates must have cleared or are still pursuing the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education from a recognized University/Institution with a minimum of 50% marks.
OR, Diploma in Elementary Education (NCTE) Applicants must have cleared or are still pursuing the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education per the NCTE Regulations, 2002, from a recognized University or institution with a minimum of 45% marks.
OR, Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) Aspirants must have cleared or are still pursuing the final year of a 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) from a recognized University/Institution with at least 50% marks.
OR, Diploma in Special Education Candidates must have cleared or are still pursuing the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Special Education from a recognized University/Institution with at least 50% marks.
OR, Graduation and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Candidates must have cleared Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from a recognized University/Institution.

CTET Eligibility Criteria 2024 for Paper 2

To apply for the CTET July 2024 Exam, candidates must read and meet the educational qualification criteria for Papers 1 and 2. If a candidate does not meet the educational qualifications, their candidature will be cancelled. Below are the detailed CTET Exam educational qualification criteria for Paper 2 (Classes 6 to 8):

OR, Bachelor's Degree in Education Graduation with a minimum of 45% marks and passed or appeared in 1 year of Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed) as per NCTE Regulations.
OR, B.EI.Ed Graduation with at least 50% marks in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and cleared Graduation in a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
OR, B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed Graduation with at least 50% marks in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and cleared Graduation in 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR, B.Ed. (Special Education) Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and cleared or appeared in a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
OR, B.Ed. Programs recognized by the NCTE Candidates who have cleared Graduation in B.Ed. Programs recognized by the NCTE are eligible to appear in TET/CTET.
