CSAT Qualifying Marks 2025: The Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) is an essential part of the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Designed to evaluate a candidate’s analytical skills, logical reasoning, reading comprehension, and basic numeracy, the CSAT helps ensure that aspirants possess the foundational aptitude required for the demands of civil service roles.
Although the CSAT is qualifying in nature and its score is not counted toward the final merit ranking, clearing it is mandatory to move forward in the selection process. Candidates across all categories—General, EWS, OBC, SC, and others—must secure a minimum of 33% marks (66 out of 200) to qualify. Falling short of this threshold results in disqualification, regardless of performance in the General Studies Paper 1!UPSC CSAT Exam 2025 | |

To qualify the CSAT paper in the UPSC CSE Prelims 2025, candidates must obtain at least 33% of the total marks. As the CSAT is conducted for 200 marks, this translates to a minimum requirement of 66 marks or 66.67 marks. Although the CSAT is only qualifying in nature and does not contribute to the final merit list of the prelims, failing to secure these 66 marks will result in disqualification. Candidates who score below 66.67 will not be considered for UPSC Mains, even if a candidate scores well in the GS 1 Paper.
