In his address to the nation, the PM will highlight the achievements made in the past year and declare the future aspirations for the country. India achieved freedom from British rule in 1947, and so India will be completing 78 years of independence on August 15, 2025. However, the count of celebrations starts from the first one held in 1947. Therefore, the day in 2025 is officially the 79th Independence Day.
