UPSC-Kerala PSC exams’ date clash

UPSC-Kerala PSC Exam Date Clash: A significant scheduling conflict has emerged in Kerala as the Kerala PSC Sub-Inspector (SI) Trainee exam is clashing on the same date as the UPSC Mains Exam. The Kerala PSC SI exam is being organized by the Public Service Commission on August 30, 2025. Meanwhile, the UPSC will also be conducting the Civil Services Mains Language Paper A and Paper B.

This overlap is causing anxiety and frustration among aspirants preparing for both. They have requested the Kerala PSC push the SI exam to a later date.

Why UPSC-Kerala PSC Exam Date Clash is a Concern

The clash is a big concern for the aspirants as both exams are crucial for aspirants’ careers. The UPSC Mains is one of the toughest and most competitive exams in the country, while the Kerala PSC SI exam is a major gateway for state-level police jobs.

Candidates who registered for both now face the impossible choice of skipping one.

Current Status:

  • Kerala PSC SI Exam Date: August 30, 2025

  • UPSC Mains Exam Date (Language Paper A and Paper B): August 30, 2025

  • Hall Tickets: Already issued for Kerala PSC SI exam

Aspirants Request PSC Chairperson for Exam Postponement

Several aspirants have already written in the Joint letter to the Kerala PSC chairperson requesting a new date for the SI exam. They have urged that rescheduling would allow them to fairly compete in both recruitment processes without losing an entire year’s effort.

However, with hall tickets already released, many candidates fear that they may be forced to miss the SI exam unless there is high-level intervention.
