UPSC Mains GS 3 Paper Analysis 2025: UPSC Mains General Studies Paper 3 (GS 3) is one of the four General Studies Papers included in the UPSC Mains exam by the Union Public Service Commission. The GS 2 Paper exam was held on August 24, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The analysis of the UPSC Mains GS Paper 3 was done after the completion of the Exam. At first glance, the questions seemed to be well-balanced, for which the candidates would have written proper answers. As time passed, candidates felt that the questions were more analytical in nature and required more time to answer.
As per the analysis of the Paper, candidates should have given more importance to understanding the interconnections between contemporary issues and their impact on our lives.
The analysis highlighted that the Indian Economy and Finance questions were centred around the recent RBI reports and findings, and agriculture-related issues in India, global trade issues, etc.
Questions related to Climate Change, Global Warming, Ecology & Biodiversity, etc, were also prominent in the question paper.
Overall, the paper was well-balanced with all questions from all the subjects mentioned under the UPSC Mains GS 3 syllabus included. Candidates with thorough preparation should have been able to write satisfactory answers to all the questions.
As per the UPSC Mains GS 3 Paper Analysis, the questions asked in the GS 3 paper would have required the candidates to combine factual knowledge and analytical skills to write proper answers.
