UPSC uses a standard marking scheme to calculate the score of candidates. In the CSAT paper authorities simply check whether candidates are scoring above 33% marks out of 200 or not. In GS paper it takes into account average scores to prepare a cut off out of 200 which must be crossed by candidates.
