To be eligible for SSC JE 2026, a candidate must be:
A citizen of India, or
A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement, or
A person of Indian origin who migrated from countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia, Vietnam, etc., with the intention of permanently settling in India
Candidates falling under certain categories may require a Government of India eligibility certificate at the time of appointment.
Candidates must possess the prescribed educational qualification in the relevant engineering discipline before the cut-off date mentioned in the official notification. The qualification requirement varies depending on the department and post.
Candidates should have either:
Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution; or
B.E./B.Tech in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognised university.
