UCEED Exam Pattern 2025 About the New Changes
UCEED has updated its marking scheme, particularly in the Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) section of Part A. Notably, the number of questions in both Part A and Part B remains unchanged. Previously, such a distribution of marks was not part of the UCEED marking scheme.
UCEED Exam Pattern 2025 New Marking scheme for Part A
Each multiple-select question in UCEED may have one or more correct choices from four options provided. The entire UCEED exam (Part A and Part B) must be completed within 3 hours. Negative marking applies to MSQ in UCEED 2025.
Section 1: Numerical Answer Type (NAT): There are 14 questions, each worth of 4 marks with no negative marking. For such questions, an answer is a number that needs to be entered using a virtual keyboard on the computer screen. There will be no choices for these questions.
Section 2: Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) : There will be 15 multiple-choice questions. Each question may have one or more than one correct answer. The marking scheme is discussed below.
Full Marks: +4 for selecting all correct options and none incorrect.
Partial Marks: +3 for choosing all four correct options but only three selected.
Partial Marks: +2 for selecting two correct options out of three or more.
Partial Marks: +1 for choosing one correct option out of multiple correct choices.
Zero Marks: 0 for unanswered questions.
Negative Marks: -1 for any other incorrect attempts.
Section 3: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ): There will be 28 multiple-choice questions. Each question is worth 3 marks with 0.71 marks deducted for an incorrect answer. Each MCQ will have four choices, out of which only one is the correct answer.
UCEED 2025 New Marking scheme for Part B
The following are important points regarding the marking scheme for Part B in the UCEED exam pattern 2025.
Part B will comprise 2 questions. The questions will be displayed on the computer screen and the candidates have to write/draw their answers in the answer book provided by the invigilator.
Part B is also mandatory like the Part A. Candidates are required to attempt both the parts, otherwise their result won't be declared.
It evaluates candidates based on their drawing skills and design aptitude.
Candidates have to submit their answer booklet once the exam is concluded.
For PwD candidates, who are using the services of a scribe, no assistance will be provided in Part B. This is because the questions evaluate candidates' drawing skills.
UCEED Review or Re-totalling 2025
Part A of the UCEED exam is computer-based, with no provision for review, re-grading, or re-totaling.
Part B involves one question manually evaluated using a provided answer sheet, irrespective of online marking.
Part A marks are used for shortlisting, with cutoffs determined by X + yΣ (X = average marks, Σ = standard deviation, y = number of seats).
Part B is independently evaluated by two examiners; discrepancies > 12 marks (20%) lead to a third evaluation.
The final Part B score is the average of the two closest evaluations.
The total UCEED score combines Parts A and B, determining the final result.
UCEED 2025 Question Paper and Draft Answer Key (Part A) will be published on the UCEED website.
Candidates can compare their answers with the draft key; final decisions on answer keys are binding on all candidates after considering feedback
