UID Aptitude Test is conducted by the Unitedworld Institute of Design for admission to BDes, MDes, and PhD programs at both Ahmedabad and NCR campuses. The test is conducted in a two-tier structure. For the 2025 exam session, Tier I, called the Design Aptitude Test, was held on 25 January 2025. Tier II, known as Situation Test and Portfolio Evaluation, was conducted offline at the respective campuses between late March and early April. 

It must be noted that the application window for the general category has closed, but admissions remain open for the NRI and Management categories. UID Aptitude Test Results 2025 will be announced online, and candidates will be notified via their registered email addresses.

What is UID Aptitude Test?

UID Aptitude Test stands for ID Design Aptitude Test (DAT). It is an entrance examination conducted by the United World Institute of Design for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate design programs at the Ahmedabad and NCR campuses. The exam assesses candidates’ abilities in areas such as logic, creativity, visualization, sketching, and design thinking through a combination of objective (MCQ) and subjective (descriptive and sketching) questions.

UID Aptitude Test 2025 is conducted at the Unitedworld Institute of Design in two tiers. The first tier is a three-hour written test comprising both multiple choice and descriptive questions. Application form for the UID Aptitude Test 2025 was accessible from 29 August 2024 and closed for the general category in January 2025. Tier I exam was held on 25 January 2025,  with a re-exam held on 29 January for those who missed the initial date. Tier II, comprising the Situation Test and Portfolio Evaluation, took place offline at the Ahmedabad campus from 27 March to 10 April 2025, and at the NCR campus from 2 April to 8 April 2025. Eligibility Criteria for UID Aptitude Test 2025

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria for the UID Aptitude Test 2025 before applying for admission. These criteria differ for undergraduate and postgraduate courses and are set by the Unitedworld Institute of Design. 

• Candidates must have passed their 10+2 (any stream) or be appearing for the final examination, or hold a three-year diploma equivalent to 10+2 from any recognized board or institute.
• A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the last qualifying examination is required. 
• Eligibility applies to Indian, NRI, and foreign applicants under the general category. 
• Admission is based on clearing a two-tier evaluation process: UID DAT (Design Aptitude Test), followed by a Situation Test and Portfolio Evaluation for shortlisted candidates. 

How to Apply for UID Aptitude Test 2025?

To apply for the UID Aptitude Test 2025, candidates must complete an online application process through the official UID admissions portal. Offline submissions are not accepted. Here’s how you can apply for the UID Aptitude Test 2025. 

• Visit the official UID admissions portal and register by entering your name, email ID, and mobile number to create an account. 
• Log in with your credentials and fill out the application form with personal, academic, and contact details. 
• Upload required documents such as your 10th and 12th mark sheets, photograph, and signature as per the specified format and size. 
• Pay the non-refundable application fee online using available payment methods. 
• Submit the completed application form and download or print a copy for future reference.

UID Aptitude Test  Exam Pattern 2025

UID Aptitude Test 2025 follows a two-tier structure, starting with an online written exam (Tier I). It includes both multiple-choice and descriptive questions, lasting three hours and totaling 100 marks. The paper is divided into two sections, namely, the General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT). 

GAT covers communication ability, comprehension, quantitative and analytical ability, general knowledge, and data interpretation, while CAT assesses creative thought process, design problem-solving, visualization, and expression. Candidates who qualify in the written test proceed to Tier II, which consists of an offline Situation Test and Portfolio Evaluation. This involves hands-on creativity and the ability to present and explain design concepts. 

UID Aptitude Test Syllabus 2025

The syllabus is designed to assess a candidate’s overall aptitude for design, combining both analytical and creative skills. The exam covers topics such as general knowledge, current affairs, quantitative and analytical ability, data interpretation, creative and logical reasoning, and communication skills, alongside sections that evaluate sketching, visualization, and originality of ideas. 

In addition to the written test, the Situation Test focuses on concept development, design thinking, material manipulation, and the ability to construct 3D compositions. It requires candidates to visually interpret and explain their creative process. Candidates’ practical as well as theoretical knowledge is evaluated through the two-tier exam process. 

UID Aptitude Test Admit Card 2025

The UID Aptitude Test 2025 admit card was released online by the Unitedworld Institute of Design on its official website. It is a mandatory document for candidates to carry to the exam center, along with a valid photo ID. Only those candidates who have successfully submitted their application forms are eligible to download the admit card by logging in with their credentials. The admit card contains important details such as exam date, time, and venue, and candidates are advised to print it out and keep it safely until the admission process is complete. 

UID Aptitude Test Result 2025

Unitedworld Institute of Design releases the UID Aptitude Test Result 2025 on the official website at www.uid.edu.in. The result is announced after the completion of both the written exam and the Situation Test and Portfolio Evaluation. Candidates are notified about the result through their registered email IDs and can access their scorecard by logging into the official UID admissions portal with their credentials. The result includes section-wise and total marks, merit rank, and qualifying status.
