What to Carry on the Day of NIFT Exams: The NIFT 2025 entrance exam is scheduled for 9th February 2025. Since only a few days are left for the exam, aspirants must gear up for their last leg of preparation. Alongside revising the key concepts and reinforcing what you have already studied, it is also important to keep in mind the practical aspects of the exam day. Candidates must ensure to carry all the necessary items, including NIFT admit card, photo ID card, and stationery on the day of NIFT exams.

NIFT Exams Timing

The NIFT entrance exam timing is crucial for aspirants as it determines the structured schedule for different programs and helps candidates plan their exam strategy effectively. For the 2025 exam scheduled on February 9, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has designed specific time slots for different courses of NIFT exams, allowing candidates to prepare mentally and logistically for their respective exam sessions. NIFT 2025 Exam Day Instructions

NIFT 2025 entrance exam will include a General Ability Test (GAT), which assesses a candidate’s general knowledge, logical reasoning, and English comprehension, and a Creative Ability Test (CAT), which evaluates design skills and creativity through practical assignments and sketching exercises. NIFT 2025 Exam Day Instructions provide important guidelines and rules that candidates must follow on the day of the exam. These instructions include details on required documents, allowed items, dress code, and other essential protocols to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the examination. Some of them are discussed below.
  • Candidates must reach the exam centre at least one hour before the reporting time. Entry will be closed 30 minutes before the exam starts.
  • The National Test Agency (NTA) will not be responsible for any delayed arrival of the candidates in reaching the NIFT 2025 exam centre for any reason.
  • To ensure that no unauthorized candidates appear for the NIFT exams, the exam authorities will do an identity check of the candidates upon arrival at the exam centre.
  • Candidates are required to paste and sign their photographs on the attendance sheet at the appropriate place.
  • Candidates must ensure that they bring all the necessary documents and stationery to the exam centre.
  • Candidates will be provided rough sheets to perform rough work at the examination centre.
  • Any candidate found doing unfair means will be disqualified from the NIFT 2025 admission process.

What to Carry on the Day of NIFT Exams?

Candidates must carry the following things on the day of NIFT exams.
  • NIFT 2025 Admit Card accompanied with a Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the NIFT official website. It must be duly filled in and must be printed on a A4 size paper.
  • A simple transparent Ballpoint Pen / Pencil / Erasers 'Ruler (In a transparent pouch).
  • Candidates appearing for the NIFT CAT need to carry their Drawing and Coloring stationery. A physical NIFT CAT question paper booklet with space for responses will be provided at the examination centre.
  • An additional photograph (the same as uploaded on the NIFT application form) will be pasted on the attendance sheet in the examination room/hall.
  • Candidates must carry a government-issued photo ID (like Aadhaar, Passport, or Voter ID) to verify their identity at the exam center. The photo ID must be original and non-expired.
  • Candidates claiming the relaxation under the PwD category, must bring their Pw8D certificate and UDID issued by the authorized medical officer.
  • A personal transparent water bottle.
  • In case the candidate is diabetic, he/she can bring sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/orange).

  • Since only a few days are left for the NIFT exams, focus on revision and avoid cramming new topics.
  • Solve mock papers, take practice tests, and hone your drawing and design skills for CAT.
  • Stay updated on current affairs, fashion trends, and general knowledge for the GAT section.
  • Follow the exam instructions and read the guidelines mentioned on your admit card carefully before the exam. Carry your admit card and a valid photo ID proof to the exam center.
  • Don’t carry prohibited items such as mobile phones, electronic gadgets, or study materials to the exam center.

What should I carry to the NIFT exam center?

Yes, there is negative marking for incorrect answers in the GAT section. One-fourth of the marks allotted to a question will be deducted for every wrong answer. There is no negative marking in the Creative Ability Test (CAT).
