CCMT Counselling is the centralized admission process for candidates seeking admission to M.Tech., M.Arch., and M.Plan. programmes offered by NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) based on valid GATE scores. The counselling process is conducted entirely online through the official CCMT portal.
Unlike COAP, candidates do not need to submit separate applications to each participating NIT or institute. The complete admission process, including registration, choice filling, preference locking, seat allotment, and fee payment, is carried out through a single CCMT portal.
CCMT is conducted for admission to M.Tech., M.Arch., and M.Plan. programmes offered by participating NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and other CFTIs through valid GATE scores. The table below provides a quick overview of the counselling process, including the conducting authority, participating institutes, admission mode, and official website.

Candidates must satisfy the following eligibility requirements before registering:
Possess a valid GATE score from 2027, 2026, 2025, 2024, or 2023.
Have secured 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks (General/EWS/OBC) in the qualifying degree.
SC/ST/PwD candidates require 6.0 CGPA or 55% marks.
The qualifying degree must be awarded by a recognized institution.
If the final result is awaited, provisional admission is permitted subject to submission of the prescribed certificate.
Programme-specific eligibility depends on the combination of qualifying degree and GATE paper accepted by the participating institute.
The CCMT admission process is completed through the following stages:
Register on the CCMT portal using your GATE credentials, academic details, and personal information.
Select and arrange your preferred institutes and programmes before the deadline.
Choice filling is one of the most important stages of CCMT counselling. Since seat allotment depends on both GATE score and the order of preferences, candidates should carefully arrange their choices before locking them. Once the deadline passes, preferences cannot be modified.
Seats are allotted based on:
GATE score
Category
Programme preferences
Seat availability
Candidates can check their allotment by logging into the CCMT portal.
Candidates allotted seats must complete online document verification and pay the prescribed seat acceptance fee.
After completing document verification, candidates must report to the allotted institute within the prescribed schedule to complete admission formalities.
Candidates must pay the registration fee after completing the online registration process. The registration fee is non-refundable.
