CCMT Counselling 2023

CCMT Counselling is the centralized admission process for candidates seeking admission to M.Tech., M.Arch., and M.Plan. programmes offered by NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) based on valid GATE scores. The counselling process is conducted entirely online through the official CCMT portal.

Unlike COAP, candidates do not need to submit separate applications to each participating NIT or institute. The complete admission process, including registration, choice filling, preference locking, seat allotment, and fee payment, is carried out through a single CCMT portal.

  • Have secured 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks (General/EWS/OBC) in the qualifying degree.

CCMT Counselling Process

The CCMT admission process is completed through the following stages:

Step 1: Online Registration

Register on the CCMT portal using your GATE credentials, academic details, and personal information.

Step 2: Choice Filling & Locking

Select and arrange your preferred institutes and programmes before the deadline.

Choice filling is one of the most important stages of CCMT counselling. Since seat allotment depends on both GATE score and the order of preferences, candidates should carefully arrange their choices before locking them. Once the deadline passes, preferences cannot be modified.

Step 3: Seat Allotment

Seats are allotted based on:

  • GATE score

Step 5: Reporting to the Allotted Institute

After completing document verification, candidates must report to the allotted institute within the prescribed schedule to complete admission formalities.

CCMT Registration Fee

Candidates must pay the registration fee after completing the online registration process. The registration fee is non-refundable.

CCMT Counselling 2027 FAQs

Q1. Is CCMT different from COAP?

Yes. CCMT is the centralized admission portal for NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and other participating institutes, whereas COAP is used to receive and manage admission offers from IITs and IISc.

Q2. Do I need to apply separately to every NIT through CCMT?

No. CCMT is a single admission portal, so candidates submit one application, fill their institute preferences, and participate in counselling through the CCMT portal itself.

Q3. Can I participate in CCMT with an older GATE score?

Yes. Candidates with a valid GATE 2027, 2026, 2025, 2024, or 2023 score can participate, subject to the prescribed eligibility criteria.

Q4. How are seats allotted in CCMT?

Seat allotment is based on multiple factors, including the candidate's GATE score, category, programme preferences, and seat availability in participating institutes.

Q5. Can I change my preferences after choice locking?

No. Once choices are locked or automatically locked after the deadline, candidates cannot modify, delete, or rearrange their preferences.
