GATE 2027 registration process will begin on 14 August 2026 through the GOAPS portal. Before filling out the application form, candidates should keep all the required documents and personal details ready. Doing so makes the registration process faster and helps avoid mistakes that could delay the application.
Apart from uploading documents, applicants will also need to enter their academic information, preferred exam cities, and contact details. Candidates are also advised to register on DigiLocker (Verified) for a smoother verification process during registration and at the examination centre.

The GATE 2027 document upload process requires a recent passport-size photograph.
The photograph should:
Be clear and recent.
Have a plain background.
Show the candidate's face clearly.
Match the prescribed specifications.
Not contain filters or heavy editing.
Candidates should also note that a live photograph may be captured during registration. Therefore, applicants should use a computer with a webcam or a smartphone equipped with at least a 5 MP camera.
Applicants must upload a clear scanned image of their signature.
Keep these points in mind:
Sign using black or blue ink.
Sign on white paper.
Avoid capital letters if your regular signature differs.
Upload only your own signature.
Ensure the image is sharp and readable.
Every candidate must upload a scanned copy of a valid Photo Identity Document.
