GATE Civil Engineering Paper Pattern 2027

The GATE CE exam is conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode with a duration of 180 minutes. The paper consists of 65 objective-type questions carrying 100 marks, and there is no sectional time limit, allowing you to manage your time freely.

Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

  • Each MCQ carries either 1 mark or 2 marks.

  • Every question has four answer options, with only one correct answer.

Multiple Select Questions (MSQs)

  • One or more options may be correct.

  • You must select all the correct options.

Numerical Answer Type (NAT)

  • You must enter the numerical value as the answer.

  • Questions carry either 1 mark or 2 marks.

  • No answer options are provided.

The questions are designed to assess different cognitive skills, including Recall, Comprehension, Application, and Analysis & Synthesis, ensuring that you are evaluated on both conceptual understanding and problem-solving ability.
