GATE Registration 2026 Dates Out: The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, will conduct the GATE 2026 examination. Interested candidates must apply through the official GATE 2026 registration portal. According to the latest update, the registration process now starts on August 28, 2025, and will remain open until September 28, 2025, without a late fee. With a late fee, the portal will stay open until October 9, 2025. Initially, it was sceduled to restart from Aug 25, 2025. The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati has started the GATE Registration 2026 process online from August 28, 2025 onwards through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). Additional important details regarding the examination have been made available under the GATE 2026 Notification. Steps for GATE 2026 Registration Process

• Step 1: Registration on the GATE 2026 Official Website or GOAPS 2026.
• Step 2: Fill out the GATE 2026 Application Form.
• Step 3: Uploading the essential documents
• Step 4: Paying the GATE 2026 application fees
• Step 5: Accepting the declaration.

Step 1- GATE Registration 2026

• Full Name of the Applicant (First Name, Middle Name, Surname)
• Valid Email Address
• Country of Residence
• Valid Mobile Number
• Password for Future Login

Step 2- Filling Out GATE 2026 Application Form

• Personal Details : The applicant's name, father’s and mother's names, date of birth, nationality, etc.
• Academic Detail : Details related to academic qualifications from high school until graduation.
• Communication Details : Residential address as well as the permanent address.
• GATE Paper: Name of the paper applicant is appearing for. It is important to note that modifications to the GATE 2026 paper may not be allowed after the submission of the application form. The name and code of GATE papers are tabulated below for aspirants reference.

• GATE 2026 Exam Center : Selection of three exam centers from the given list. The first two GATE Exam Centers should be in the same zone, while the third one can be from any regional zone.

• Photo Identity Proof : Any government-approved photo ID.

• Ensure the passport-sized photograph is colored.
• Professionally capture it on a white or very light background.
• The photograph must be taken after August 1, 2025.
• The applicant's face should occupy 50% of the photograph area, ensuring a clear and direct look at the camera.
• Avoid sunglasses or tinted glasses; only clear glasses are permitted.
• The dimensions of the photograph should be 3.5 cm by 4.5 cm.
• Maximum Resolution: 480 x 640 pixels
• Minimum Resolution: 240 x 320 pixels
• Format: JPEG

• Applicants must sign within a rectangular box of 2 cm x 7 cm on A4 white paper.
• Use capital letters and black or dark blue ink for the signature.
• Scan and crop the signature to meet the specified dimensions.
• Maximum Resolution: 160 x 560 pixels
• Minimum Resolution: 80 x 280 pixels
• Format: JPEG

• Scan a copy of the category (SC/ST) certificate in PDF format (if applicable).

• Scan a copy of the PwD (Persons with Disabilities) Certificate in PDF format (if applicable).

• Scan a copy of the Certificate of Dyslexia (if applicable) in PDF format.

• Scan a copy of any valid photo identity document in PDF format.
• Acceptable documents: Aadhar-UID (preferable), passport, PAN card, voter ID, and driving license.
• The document should include the applicant's name, date of birth, and a unique photo ID number.
• The original document must be carried to the examination hall for verification.

Retrieving GATE Registration 2026 Enrollment ID and Password

• Step 1: Go to the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) homepage- https://goaps.iitg.ac.in/.
• Step 2: Choose 'Forgot GATE 2026 Enrollment or Registration ID.'
• Step 3: If applicants can recall their registered email address but not their enrollment or registration ID, start the process by choosing 'Request for an OTP' to get a one-time password.
• Step 4: For applicants who already have an OTP, click "Already have an OTP?" to complete the password reset.
