Punjab Judiciary Exam 2024 Eligibility

Before proceeding with the application form, candidates must adhere to the eligibility criteria stated by the PPSC. The Punjab Judiciary Eligibility criteria has three significant parameters, age limit, nationality, and educational qualification.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have an LLB degree from any university as of 10/10/2022, or a Degree of Bachelor of Laws from Punjab University (undivided), the Dacca University, the Sind University, the Tribhuwan University, Nepal, or the Mandalay University or the Rangoon University in Burma, or member of the Faculty of Advocates of Scotland, or should be a Barrister of England or Ireland.
  • Candidates must be enrolled as Advocate under the Advocate Act, 1961.
  • Candidates must have studied Punjabi up to matric or its equivalent standard.

Age Limit

  • Candidates must be between the age bracket of 21 years to 37 years on the last date of submission of the application form.
  • Ex-servicemen of Punjab Domicile shall be allowed to deduct the period of their service in the Armed Forces of Union from their actual age. If the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for direct appointment to such a vacancy in the Service Rules concerned by more than three years, they shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding the age limit.

  • Or, you shall be a person who is of Indian origin and has migrated from East African countries like Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire, Malawi, Zambia, Burma, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka,  for permanent settlement in India.

Punjab Judiciary Exam 2024 Syllabus

The Punjab Judiciary selection process includes prelims, mains, and interview rounds. The prelims is worth 500 marks and consists of questions based on law topics and current affairs. Candidates have to score more than 150 marks (100 for reserved categories) out of 500 to qualify for the Punjab Judiciary mains examination. The Punjab Judiciary syllabus mains includes topics such as Constitutional and Administrative Law of India, Commercial Law, Law of Transfer of Property and Principles of Equity, Hindi Law & Muhammadan Law, Law of Trusts and Specific Relief Law of Contracts & Torts, Legal Drafting i.e. framing of charges, Issues and Judgment writing, etc.,. There will be a language-based paper on the Punjabi Language in which candidates are required to score 33% marks out of 150 for qualification.

The Punjab Judiciary exam pattern assists candidates in gaining insights into the marking scheme, sectional weightage, and other relevant aspects. The Punjab Judiciary prelims is an objective paper, consisting of multiple-choice questions based on Law and General Knowledge.
