IIM Ahmedabad: The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad ( IIM A) has successfully completed the final placements for its one-year MBA program (PGPX) at the end of June 2024. This year, 105 companies took part in the placement process, making it a big achievement for the program. A total of 121 students from the IIMA PGPX 2024 batch received and accepted job offers, showing the strong reputation of the program in the industry.

- Total Students and Offers : Out of 147 students in the PGPX program, 126 opted for placements. A total of 121 students accepted job offers, while five students remained unplaced. This marks the second occurrence since 2020 that five students did not secure placements, with three choosing to pursue entrepreneurship and two joining family businesses.
- Salary Trends : The highest salary offer for this cohort dropped to ₹54.8 lakh per annum, the lowest in six years. In contrast, the median salary increased to ₹35 lakh, up from ₹33 lakh in 2023. The highest-ever maximum earning potential recorded was ₹1.08 crore in 2023, highlighting the impact of the global economic slowdown on this year's placements.
- Recruitment Sectors : Consulting firms were the largest recruiters, accounting for 35% of the placements. Other significant sectors included Information Technology (IT), Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI), and Healthcare. Notably, 67 new companies participated in the recruitment process, indicating growing interest in the program.
- Recruiters : Among the prominent recruiters were Accenture, Amazon, McKinsey, and Eli Lilly, with firms offering roles in leadership and senior management positions. The consulting sector remained a stronghold, followed closely by IT and healthcare roles.

A key highlight of this year's placement process was the participation of 67 new organizations that joined for the first time. This increase in new recruiters shows the growing popularity and strong reputation of the PGPX program. Although, out of the 147 students who were eligible for placements, 21 chose not to participate. The reasons were: 7 students were already employed or sponsored by companies, 3 were starting their own businesses, 2 were joining or returning to a family business, and 9 were looking for opportunities outside the campus placement process. They were offered positions like Chief Product Officer, Vice President, Associate Director, and Program Head. Most job offers came from consulting firms, making up 35% of the placements.
