IIM Kashipur welcomes MBA batches, Leads Gender Parity Efforts in Business Education 2024
The IIM Kashipur management institute has reached 42% female students and IIM Kashipur welcomes MBA batches in its main courses for the 2024-26 academic years, which is a significant rise from last year's 35%.

IIM Kashipur welcomes MBA batches: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur, is leading the way in promoting gender equality in business education, which has traditionally been male-dominated. The institute has made a significant achievement by reaching 42% female representation in its main courses for the 2024-26 academic years, up from 35% the previous year.

The new 2024-26 cohort, welcomed through a thorough three-day inauguration and orientation program, includes 196 female students out of 471 enrolled in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Business Administration – Analytics (MBA – A) programs. Remarkably, the MBA – Analytics program has 75% female students this year, an increase from last year’s 69%.IIM Kashipur welcomes MBA batches
IIM Kashipur has welcomed its new MBA students for the 2024-25 academic year, including both first-year and second-year students. The institute has also admitted 15 candidates into its doctoral program, with four women among them, showing its commitment to gender equality in business education.- In addition to the MBA program, IIM Kashipur has started its third batch of the Executive MBA (Analytics). This two-year program is designed for working professionals who want to gain more expertise in areas like Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Management, Data Analysis, and Strategy.

The EMBA (Analytics) batch includes 65 students, 30% of whom are women. These students come from various backgrounds and industries, such as fashion design, cyber security, data science, management, chartered accountancy, and mining engineering. Diverse Academic and Professional Backgrounds
The new batch at IIM Kashipur shows diversity not only in gender but also in academic and work backgrounds. A large part of the students, 37%, come from engineering fields, showing a strong technical base within the group. Additionally, 33% of the students have backgrounds in commerce, highlighting a mix of technical and business skills among the group.- Adding to the diversity, 12% of the students come from science backgrounds, bringing analytical and research-oriented skills. The arts are also well represented, with 6% of the students contributing creative and critical thinking abilities.
- The remaining students come from various fields, including medical and communication studies, enriching the group with a wide range of perspectives and expertise.

Academic Excellence and Growth
Professor Abhradeep Maiti, Chairperson of Admissions, praised IIM Kashipur for attracting future leaders and organizing the 2024 Common Admission Process (CAP 2024). He pointed out the institute’s strides in improving gender diversity, noting an increase from 11% female students in 2019 to 42% in the current batch.Geographical and Academic Leadership
Geographical diversity is well represented in the batch, with students coming from 28 states across India. Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh have the highest number of students, each contributing 63 enrollments. Professor Somnath Chakraborti, Director-in-Charge of IIM Kashipur, expressed pride in the institute’s rapid growth and achievements in gender diversity, geographical representation, and academic collaborations. Despite being established just 13 years ago, he emphasized IIM Kashipur's ambition to rank among the top 10 IIMs in India through consistent efforts in these areas.Future Prospects and Welcome
In addition to MBA and MBA Analytics, IIM Kashipur welcomed 15 candidates into its doctoral program, including four women, demonstrating its dedication to fostering academic excellence across various fields. The orientation session for the AY 2024-26 batches, covering MBA, MBA Analytics, and PhD programs, took place from June 27 to June 30, 2024.
