NEET Domicile Criteria For Andhra Pradesh

Admission to MBBS/BDS state quota seats in Andhra Pradesh (AP) is divided between local and non-local candidates. The AP NEET admission system categorizes local status into Andhra University (AU) and Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) areas. AU includes seven districts, and SVU includes five districts. Non-local candidates are eligible for only 15% of the unreserved seats, whereas local candidates can compete for both the 15% unreserved and 85% local area seats.

  • 80% of seats are reserved for the APST (Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe) category.
  • 20% of seats are for Non-APST candidates, including children of Non-APST State Government employees, Central Government and PSU employees, and others who have lived in Arunachal Pradesh for at least 3 years and passed Class 12 or equivalent from a school in Arunachal Pradesh.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Assam

NEET Domicile Criteria For Gujarat

Candidates eligible for state-quota reservation in Gujarat NEET must meet the following criteria:

  • Candidate must be a citizen of India or an Overseas Citizen of India.
  • Candidates should either be born in Gujarat or hold a domicile in Gujarat. They must have completed Class 10 and 12 from any of the five education boards recognized by the state (Gujarat Board, CBSE, CISCE, ISB, and NIOS), provided their school is located within Gujarat.
  • Candidates whose parent/s serve in All India Services, Gujarat Government Services posted outside Gujarat, or in Defense services with Gujarat domicile but stationed outside the state are eligible.
  • Candidates born outside Gujarat but completed Class 10 and 12 within the state must produce domicile certificates. Their parent/s must also be residents of Gujarat.
  • Candidates born in the UTs of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu are exempt from providing Gujarat domicile proof.
  • Candidates who studied up to Std. 8 in Jawahar Navodya Vidyalayas (JNVs), as well as those who completed Std. 12 in JNVs outside Gujarat, are eligible.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Mizoram

Candidates seeking admission under the state quota in NEET for Mizoram must be Indian nationals and permanent residents/domicile holders of Mizoram.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Odisha

To apply for Odisha NEET MBBS or BDS admission in 2025, candidates must either be permanent residents of Odisha or children of All India Civil Service officials serving in the Odisha cadre.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Haryana

For NEET 2025 admission in Haryana, the domicile rules are as follows:

  • Applicants must have lived in Haryana for at least 10 years.
  • Candidates must complete their Class 12 from a recognized school established within Haryana.
  • The applicant's parents must be bonafide residents of Haryana.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Bihar

  • Their parents are residents of Bihar or settled as refugees in Bihar.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Delhi

For MBBS admission under the 85% state quota in Delhi University, candidates must have completed their Class 12 education from a school located in Delhi-NCR. These schools should be affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, or JMI boards.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Jharkhand

Jharkhand NEET Domicile Rules for MBBS Admission are as follows:

  • Only individuals who are local or permanent residents of Jharkhand are eligible for the 85% state-reserved seats. They must provide certificates proving their permanent residency issued by competent authorities.
  • Domicile holders of Jharkhand who have completed Class XII from the Jharkhand Board are also eligible.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Karnataka

Aspirants must meet the following criteria for Karnataka domicile:

  • Completion of Class 12 from schools established within Karnataka and affiliated with the state or Central government.
  • Residency within the state for a minimum of 7 consecutive years, or studying in any school within Karnataka with at least one parent residing in the state for 7 years.
  • Proficiency in Kannada, Tulu, or Kodava languages, with parents being permanent residents of Karnataka.
  • Candidates from disputed Kannada-speaking regions are required to pass the Kannada Language Test.
  • Special provisions for children of Defense Personnel serving for at least 1 year.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Kerala

Candidates applying for admission to medical colleges in Kerala are classified into three categories: Keralite, Non-Keralite I (NK-I), and Non-Keralite II (NK-II):

  1. Keralite Category: Candidates of Kerala origin and children of All India Service Officers posted in Kerala are eligible for communal reservations or fee concessions.
  2. Non-Keralite Category I (NK-I): Candidates who have studied in Kerala and have parents working with the Government of India or Government of Kerala, or who have resided in Kerala during their study period.
  3. Non-Keralite Category II (NK-II): Aspirants not falling under NK-I are eligible only for open quota management seats in private self-financing medical colleges in Kerala.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Madhya Pradesh

Only candidates who are legal residents of Madhya Pradesh are eligible for the 85% state reservation in MP NEET. Additionally, the following candidates can also avail of this reservation:

  1. Children of Freedom Fighters
  2. Dependents of Defense Personnel
  3. Candidates whose parent(s) are the Government of India employees and are currently posted in Madhya Pradesh.

NEET Domicile Criteria for Maharashtra

There are five ways for candidates to fulfill the domicile criteria for NEET 2025 in Maharashtra:

Maharashtra State Candidature Type A:

Candidates must have completed their class 10 and 12 education from Maharashtra and hold a domicile certificate from the Maharashtra government (having lived in Maharashtra for 10 years) or a birth certificate proving birth in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra State Candidature Type B:

Candidates must have passed class 10 and 12 from Maharashtra. One candidate's parents must possess a domicile certificate from the Maharashtra government.

Maharashtra State Candidature Type C:

Candidates must have passed classes 10 and 12 from Maharashtra. One of the candidate's parents must be an employee of the Government of India or a Government of India undertaking, stationed and reporting to duty in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra State Candidature Type D:

Candidates must have passed class 10 and 12 from Maharashtra. One of the candidate's parents must be an employee of the Government of Maharashtra or a Government of Maharashtra undertaking.

Maharashtra State Candidature Type E:

Candidates must have passed class 10 and 12 from a recognized school along the Maharashtra-Karnataka border. The candidate must have Marathi as their mother tongue and possess a domicile or birth certificate from the Maharashtra-Karnataka border area administration.

Candidates from across the country, including OCIs, NRIs, and OMCs (Outside Maharashtra Candidates), may apply for Institutional Quota seats in Maharashtra. They must adhere to specific rules and regulations, with preference given to NRI candidates. Authorities allocate these seats through CAP (Centralized Admission Process).

NEET Domicile Criteria For Manipur

For admission to MBBS and BDS courses in Manipur through NEET, only individuals who are permanent residents or domicile holders of Manipur are eligible to benefit from the 85% state quota reservation.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Meghalaya

To be eligible for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in Meghalaya through NEET 2025, candidates must fulfill one of the following domicile criteria:

  • Be a permanent resident of any of the 8 Northeastern states in India.
  • Have completed their 11th and 12th grades from a school recognized by the state and central governments.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Punjab

Through Punjab UG NEET admission, only legitimate residents of Punjab are eligible to apply for 85% of state quota seats. Exceptions to this rule include:

  • Candidates whose parent(s) served with the Central Government of India, Punjab Government, or All India Services have passed away.
  • Candidates who are dependents of deceased Central Government employees who were stationed in Punjab for at least two out of three years immediately before their Class XII exams, even if they were temporarily posted outside Punjab during that period.
  • Candidates born in Punjab are children of deceased Defense or Para Military Personnel.
  • Candidates whose parents are serving as defense personnel stationed in Punjab.
  • Candidates applying under the NRI or Minority quota are also eligible for state quota seats.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Puducherry

To be eligible for 85% reservation in Government Colleges in Puducherry, candidates must be Indian Nationals and meet one of the following criteria:

  • The candidate, or their parent(s) or guardian (in case of orphaned children), must have resided in the Union Territory of Puducherry for at least five years before the application date.
  • Candidates who completed their SSLC/HSC or equivalent exams after studying continuously for five successive years in recognized educational institutions located in Puducherry, while residing there continuously for five years.
  • Children of natives of Puducherry who have declared any place in Puducherry as their hometown, certified by their respective Heads of Office, are also eligible with a prescribed Nativity Certificate.
  • Children of Central/State Government servants, Defense Personnel, Central Paramilitary Forces, or employees of Public Sector Undertakings substantially owned by the Central Government or Puducherry Administration who have served in Puducherry continuously for a minimum of three years before the application deadline.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Rajasthan

For Rajasthan NEET admissions, in order to be eligible for the 85% state-reserved seats:

  • Candidate must be a certified resident of Rajasthan.
  • Or, the candidate's parent/s must have resided in Rajasthan for at least 10 years, with the candidate studying in the state from classes VIII to XII.
  • Or, the candidate's parent/s must be serving or retired government employees of Rajasthan with a minimum of 3 years of service at the time of online registration.
  • Or, the candidate must be the natural child of a serving or retired Defense/Para-Military personnel originating from Rajasthan.
  • Or, the candidate must be the child of a serving permanent Defense Personnel posted in Rajasthan.
  • Or, the candidate must be the child of a Judge of the Rajasthan High Court, not benefiting from similar criteria in any other state.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Tamil Nadu

In Tamil Nadu, in order to be eligible for state quota reservation:

  • Candidates must be bona fide residents of Tamil Nadu.
  • Candidates who completed schooling from class 6 to 12 in Tamil Nadu require a Nativity Certificate, with documents including their parents' Ration Card, Birth Certificate, SSLC/10/12 Certificate, or No Graduate Certificate if parents are illiterate.
  • Students domiciled in Tamil Nadu but studied partially or fully outside the state must submit copies of their parents' documents.
  • Candidates must confirm they have not applied as natives of any other state besides Tamil Nadu.
  • NRI and PIO candidates must apply under the management quota following government rules.
  • Candidates from other states residing or studying in Tamil Nadu from class 6 to 12 are considered under the open category, not the state quota.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Telangana

The Telangana NEET 2025 Admission process distinguishes between local and non-local candidates. The state is divided into 7 local areas and 5 non-local areas. Local admissions are managed by Osmania University (OU), Andhra University (AU), and Sri Venkateswara University (SVU). Local candidates can apply for 85% of the state quota seats, while non-local candidates are eligible for the remaining 15% of unreserved seats.

The local areas that each university oversees are broken down as follows:

  • SVU local area includes Ananthapur, Kadapa, Kurnool, Chittoor, and Nellore.
  • AU local area covers Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, and Prakasham.
  • OU local area encompasses Adilabad, Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahaboobnagar, Medak, Nizamabad, and Warangal.

For local candidates, eligibility criteria include:

  • Residing in Telangana continuously for at least 4 years.

Non-local candidates can apply for the 15% unreserved seats if they fulfill any of the following criteria:

  • Resided in Telangana for at least 7 consecutive years for academic or other purposes.
  • Studied in any school within Telangana for at least 7 years.
  • In cases where the candidate did not study in Telangana, they must have been a resident of the state for at least 7 years.

Additionally, eligibility for non-local candidates includes:

  • Residing in Telangana for at least 10 years, excluding periods spent outside the state for academic purposes.
  • Having parents who have lived in Telangana for 10 consecutive years, excluding their years of employment outside the state.
  • Having a spouse employed in Public Corporations, Central, State, or Government institutions within Telangana.

NEET Domicile Criteria For J&K

To be eligible for JK MBBS/BDS admission in UT of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, students must meet the following NEET domicile criteria:

  1. The candidate must be a domicile of UT of J&K/Ladakh.
  2. The candidate should have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognized Board/University with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from the respective state.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Tripura

For NEET 2025 admission in Tripura, applicants must satisfy one of the following domicile criteria:

  1. Permanent residency in Tripura with parents residing in the state for at least 10 consecutive years.
  2. Parents serving in All India Services outside Tripura or employed by the state government of Tripura.
  3. Not permanent residents but parents employed by the state government of Tripura for at least 3 years.
  4. Passing Class XII from a school in Tripura with parents or grandparents having served the state government for at least 5 years.
  5. Children of Army or Defense personnel posted in Tripura for at least 5 years.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Uttarakhand

To qualify for the 85% state quota in Uttarakhand MBBS admission, candidates must fulfill one of the following criteria:

  1. Permanent residency in Uttarakhand and passing Classes 10th and 12th from a recognized institution in the state.
  2. Passing Classes 10th and 12th from a recognized institution in Uttarakhand, without being a permanent resident, but without reservation entitlement.
  3. Permanent residency in Uttarakhand, passing Classes 10th and 12th from a recognized institution outside the state, still eligible for the state quota.

NEET Domicile Criteria For Uttar Pradesh (UP)

To be eligible for the UP NEET state quota, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. The candidate must be a native of UP, and their father must also be a resident of UP.
  2. Candidates whose parent/s have lived in UP for at least 3 years.
  3. Candidates whose parent/s work for the Government of India.
  4. Candidates who completed their X and XII education in UP do not need to provide a domicile certificate.
  5. Candidates who completed either X or XII in UP must provide proof of their parent/s' UP residency.

NEET Domicile Criteria For West Bengal

For West Bengal NEET admissions, eligibility for the state quota requires candidates or their parent/s to be domiciled in West Bengal. Applicants must download the domicile certificate form from wbmcc.nic.in and choose one of the following forms:

  • Proforma A1: For candidates residing continuously in West Bengal for at least 10 years.
  • Proforma A2: For candidates who passed 10+2 from West Bengal and lived there for at least 10 years.
  • Proforma B: For candidates not residing continuously in West Bengal for 10 years but whose parent/s are permanent residents of West Bengal and have lived there continuously for 10 years.

The domicile certificate from the West Bengal e-district portal is acceptable as proof. For Proforma B or e-district certificates, two original ID proofs (Voter ID, Aadhaar Card, Passport) with the residential address in West Bengal must be provided during document verification. The domicile certificate must be signed by authorities specified on www.wbhealth.gov.in.
