NEET UG 2024 Counselling Postponed: National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 counselling has been rescheduled for a later date. The all-India quota (AIQ) seat NEET 2024 Counselling was initially set to begin on July 6. This update follows the Supreme Court's refusal to delay the start of the counselling process.

On July 8, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, along with Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, will hear various NEET UG 2024 petitions. These requests include claims of a paper leak, exam cancellation and re-conduction, and an investigation into the National Testing Agency's (NTA) operations.

Documents Required for NEET 2024 Counselling

NEET UG counselling is divided into several rounds, including stray vacancy and mop-up rounds.  Qualified students must register, pay fees, fill out and lock their choices, upload required documents, and report to their assigned institute in person.

The 15% AIQ NEET UG counselling includes seats in government colleges, central and deemed universities, Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) medical colleges reserved for children of insured persons, and seats at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in Pune.

The following are the main points regarding the NEET UG 2024 counselling postponement:

1. NEET UG 2024 counselling has been postponed until further notice.
2. All-India quota (AIQ) seat counselling, which was originally scheduled to begin on July 6, has been postponed.
3. The Supreme Court, led by CJI DY Chandrachud, refused to postpone the NEET UG counselling.
4. The Supreme Court will address several NEET UG 2024 petitions on July 8, including allegations of a paper leak and requests for exam cancellation and re-conduction.
5. The NEET UG counselling process involves multiple rounds and requires eligible candidates to register, pay fees, submit and lock choices, upload documents, and report to institutes.
6. The 15 percent AIQ counselling covers seats in government colleges, central and deemed universities, the IP quota in ESIC medical colleges, and the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in Pune.
7. The National Testing Agency announced retest results for 813 out of 1563 candidates on June 23, reducing the number of top scorers from 67 to 61 due to the absence of grace marks in the retest.

NEET UG 2024 Counselling New Date

According to official sources, counselling for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 will begin by the end of this month. It was initially expected to begin in the first week of July, but no official date or schedule has been announced yet.

Permission letters are still being issued to some medical colleges, and additional seats are likely to be added. "The counselling date will be announced once this process is complete, so the new college seats can be included in the first round," an official source stated.

Despite calls for cancellation of the NEET-UG 2024 due to alleged malpractice, the Centre and the National Testing Agency (NTA) informed the Supreme Court on Friday that cancelling the exam without proof of widespread confidentiality breaches would harm many honest candidates.
