On May 5, the day of the NEET UG exam, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) reported to the Supreme Court that the exam paper had been leaked. The leak occurred in Hazaribagh, and the paper was subsequently transmitted to Patna. According to the CBI, the incident happened as follows:

  • At 8:02 am on May 5, the accused entered the control room where the question papers were stored. The rear door had been deliberately left open by the center superintendent.
  • The accused exited the control room at 9:23 am and immediately sent the question papers to problem solvers.
  • The investigation has identified four locations where the question papers were transmitted: two in Patna and two in Hazaribagh.
