Is Re-NEET Possible for All the Candidates- NEET Scam 2024

Concerns have been raised about the possibility of a re-examination for all NEET 2024 exam candidates following widespread allegations of irregularities. Several stakeholders argue that a comprehensive re-NEET is necessary to ensure fairness and uphold the integrity of the examination process. The following are the reasons why Re-NEET is possible for all the candidates:

1. Concerns Over NEET UG 2024 Fairness

A vocal critic of recent NEET UG decisions, a student from Uttar Pradesh, expressed concerns about fairness. He believes all exam participants deserve a chance to reappear due to alleged unfair checking and other issues during the exam. He cited incidents of inadequate exam time, widespread cheating, and suspicions of a leaked paper in Bihar, advocating for fairness or cancellation of NEET 2024.

2. Criticism of Supreme Court's Decision

A NEET aspirant from Amritsar criticizes the Supreme Court's decision to remove grace marks for a group of students, calling it partial. They demand transparency regarding the actual number of affected students and highlight discrepancies in exam results, questioning the fairness of rank allocations compared to previous years. They advocate for reforms and a re-examination to restore trust in the system.

3. Concerns Voiced by NEET Aspirants

A NEET aspirant expresses disappointment over recent NEET UG developments, criticizing the decision only to allow a re-exam for a specific group of students. They point out widespread irregularities during the exam process, including mismanagement at exam centers and suspected paper leaks. They insist on a fair re-examination for all aspirants to ensure justice and merit-based selection.

4. Call for Transparent Investigation

A NEET aspirant supports the Supreme Court's decision to remove grace marks but questions the extent of irregularities reported by the authorities. They express concern over alleged paper leaks and the impact on public trust. They urge a transparent investigation supervised by the Supreme Court to ensure fairness and justice for all NEET UG candidates.

5. Discontent Over NEET UG Decision

A candidate was unsatisfied with the Supreme Court's verdict on NEET UG, questioning the transparency and fairness of the process. They highlight inconsistent communication from the authorities regarding exam details and raise doubts about the accuracy of the reported numbers of affected students. They call for reopening exam centres with reported irregularities or conducting a nationwide re-exam to ensure fairness for all candidates.

6. Demand for Re-Examination for NEET 2024 Aspirants

A NEET aspirant criticizes the withdrawal of grace marks for a group of candidates, arguing that it does not adequately address systemic issues. They accuse the authorities of concealing broader irregularities and advocate for a comprehensive re-examination for all candidates affected by disruptions like biometric failures.

7. Opposition to Grace Marks in NEET 2024

A NEET aspirant opposes granting grace marks in exams like NEET UG, asserting they undermine deserving candidates' efforts. They support the decision to re-examine candidates affected by grace marks or exam center issues, emphasizing the importance of transparency in determining seats in government medical colleges.

Supreme Court Decision on NEET UG Paper Leak and Re-exam 2024

Students have filed several petitions regarding the cancellation of the NEET UG 2024 exam, which is scheduled for hearing in the Supreme Court in July 2024. Last month, two petitions were submitted to the Supreme Court, but on May 17, 2024, the Court declined to halt the NEET UG Result 2024 amid concerns over paper leaks.

Recently, more students and coaching directors have approached the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the NEET UG Exam. The Court has scheduled the next hearing for July 11, 2024. Until the investigation committee concludes its report and the Supreme Court makes its decision, patience is required.

Possibility of NEET UG Re-exam 2024

In light of recent events, students question whether the NTA will conduct a re-exam for NEET 2024. Previously, in 2015, the Supreme Court cancelled the AIPMT due to a paper leak before the exam. Similar allegations have surfaced this year during the NEET UG exam, particularly in Rajasthan, where students reported receiving premarked question booklets on May 5, 2024, and incidents of paper leak were alleged. However, the NTA, through its Director General Subodh Kumar Singh, denied these allegations in a press conference, stating that all exam papers are securely managed online with no possibility of leakage.

Despite these assurances and the lack of concrete evidence of a paper leak, concerns have been raised regarding the NTA's decision to award grace marks to 1563 students. In response, the Central Education Ministry has formed a committee chaired by a former UPSC chairperson to review these grace marks. The committee is expected to submit its findings within a week, potentially affecting the marks of these students. However, NTA maintains that there is no justification for a re-examination of the NEET UG 2024 based on unfounded allegations of a paper leak.
