

Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025: The Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 is India’s largest student innovation movement, aiming to empower students from Classes 6 to 12 to solve real-life challenges through creativity and teamwork. Organized by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, and AICTE, this initiative focuses on themes like Atmanirbhar Bharat, Swadeshi, Vocal for Local, and Samriddhi. Registration for this nationwide Buildathon opened on 23 September 2025 and officially closed now. Students and schools who registered participated in a series of live innovation activities and will await results in January 2026.
Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 is a country-wide innovation contest for students in grades 6 to 12. It aims to inspire creativity, independence, and problem-solving skills. Organized by AIM, NITI Aayog, and the Ministry of Education, it encourages young students to create real solutions that support India’s goal of becoming a developed nation.
Today, October 11, 2025, is the last day to register. Schools can sign up several teams on the official websites vbb.mic.gov.in or schoolinnovationmarathon.org/registration. Each team should have 3 to 5 students and a teacher or mentor to guide them.
The Viksit Bharat Buildathon live event will be held on October 13, 2025, and will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It will be livestreamed nationwide, marking the official start of the Buildathon.

A total of 1,110 teams will be awarded at the district, state, and national levels. Apart from monetary rewards, top teams will gain mentorship and opportunities to collaborate with innovation hubs.
Eligibility Criteria for this initiative are provided below-
Students must be from Class 6 to 12
Each team should have 3 to 5 members
Participation must be through a registered school
Teachers must validate and support student registration

The competition revolves around four national themes, each designed to promote innovation and sustainability.

Teams must select one theme, identify a real-world challenge, and present an innovative solution addressing it.
Each team must submit a 2–5 minute video explaining:

Submissions must be uploaded on the official portal between October 13 and October 31, 2025.
Entries will be judged by experts based on the following parameters:
Innovation and originality
Feasibility and sustainability
Impact on society
Clarity and presentation
Shortlisted teams will be recognised at district, state, and national levels.
The Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 carries a total prize pool of Rs. 1 crore, distributed as follows:
