CEED Cut-off 2025: IIT Bombay released the CEED Cut-off 2025 on February 6, 2025 after the results were out on 5th March 2025. These cut-offs were provided as mean and standard deviations. The mean and standard deviation for Part-A (CEED 2025) are 45.48 and 16.98, respectively, while for the  CEED 2024 Part A were 41.90 and 16.72, respectively. Comparatively, in the previous edition (CEED 2023), the mean deviation stood at 22.59, with a standard deviation of 11.82.

The CEED cut-off 2025 is determined by factors such as the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and available seats in participating institutes. It will vary across different categories and institutes offering admission to M.Des programs. Candidates must meet the cut-off to qualify for the next stage of the selection process, which includes portfolio reviews and interviews for design courses. Part A cut-off marks represent the minimum score required to qualify for shortlisting. Only candidates who clear Part A will have their Part B answer sheets evaluated. Shortlisted candidates will receive a CEED merit rank. Candidates who qualify for the CEED 2025 exam are assigned a CEED merit rank.

CEED 2025 Cut-off - Admission Cut-off Vs Part A Cut-off

For CEED 2025, two distinct cut-offs will be established:

  1. Part A cut-off: This represents the minimum score required in Part A to qualify for shortlisting. It's important to note that evaluation of the Part B answer booklet will only occur if the candidate meets the shortlisting criteria.
  2. Admission cut-off: Participating institutes will determine this cut-off, considering various factors such as the number of applications received, merit ranks of applicants, available seats, and the applicant's category. The admission cut-off will be disclosed during the seat allotment process.

For admission purposes, a merit rank will be calculated, where Part A contributes 25% and Part B contributes 75% to the overall score.

 

CEED 2025 Exam Dates & Schedule

IIT Bombay released the official notification regarding CEED 2025 exam dates & schedule on 1st October 2024 on its official website. Candidates can access the CEED application form 2025 from 1st-31st October 2024 (with regular fees). With late fees, applications will be accepted till November 18, 2024 (extended from November 8, 2024). CEED 2025 will be conducted on 19th January 2025. The exam will be held in a centre-based mode and will include two parts namely Part A and B. While Part A will be held in online mode, Part B will be an offline-based test. CEED 2025 scorecard will be considered for admission to M.Des programs offered by participating institutes.

CEED 2025 Shortlisting Criteria

The CEED shortlisting criteria are determined by the following formula: µ + (σ²) = δ, where µ represents the average marks and σ represents the standard deviation of the distribution of marks obtained by all candidates in Part-A of CEED 2024. Both µ and σ will be rounded off after the first decimal place. Candidates from reserved categories must meet a relaxed cut-off mark as follows:

  • OBC-NCL: 90% of δ
  • EWS: 90% of δ
  • SC/ST: 50% of δ
  • PwD: 50% of δ

CEED Cut-off 2025 Important Points

Here are some important aspects related to CEED cut-off 2025 that candidates must know before appearing for the exam.

  • The CEED cut-off 2025 will be announced by IIT Bombay before or at the time of declaration of results.
  • Part B answer booklet will only be evaluated if the candidate meets the Part A cut-off.
  • The candidates will be allotted a CEED merit rank only when he/she meets the Part A cut-off.
  • Candidates will be assigned a merit rank and will be eligible for admission to M.Des programs at CEED 2025 participating institutes.
  • CEED 2025 counseling will be conducted by the individual participating colleges. IIT Bombay will not conduct any Joint Admission Process.
  • Note that IIT Bombay will not release the admission cut-offs.
  • As explained above, the Part A cut-off and admission cut-off are not the same.
