Preparing for JEE Main Paper 2 can be challenging because you have to balance Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing while also managing board exams. For students targeting a strong score in their first attempt, maintaining consistency across all three sections and improving weaker areas can make preparation even more demanding.
Khushi Saraf tackled these challenges with a focused preparation strategy and a clear goal of succeeding in her first attempt. She prepared consistently for several months, practised each section regularly, used Physics Wallah resources for Mathematics and Aptitude, and worked on strengthening her drawing skills. Her approach helped her secure a 99.26 percentile in JEE Main Paper 2.
Khushi started her preparation with a clear intention to complete the examination in her first attempt. Rather than keeping a backup plan in mind, she wanted to give her best to the goal she had already chosen.
“Maine last year se hi preparation start kar di thi. Mera clear tha ki mujhe is attempt mein hi karna hai aur first attempt mein hi clear karna hai.”
For her, having this clarity helped her stay committed even when the preparation became difficult.
“Mere dimaag mein ye tha ki drop nahi lena hai. Is saal jo karna hai, woh is saal hi karna hai.”
This mindset gave her the push to stay consistent throughout her preparation instead of delaying important topics or practice.
Khushi’s preparation focused on balancing Mathematics, Aptitude and Drawing while giving extra attention to the areas she found challenging. She knew that each section required a different kind of practice and worked consistently to improve across the paper.
As she realised how important the section was, she made regular practice a part of her preparation:
“Drawing mere liye bahut crucial thi, isliye uske liye bhi maine bahut practice kari.”
Alongside Drawing, Khushi gave Mathematics the practice it required, knowing that regular problem-solving was essential for improvement:
“Maths mein maine bahut practice kari, kyunki Maths practice ke saath hi ho payega.”
While JEE Main Paper 2 remained her main focus, she did not completely put her board preparation aside. She continued working on both in parallel:
“Main mainly JEE aur iski preparation kar rahi thi, aur side mein boards ka bhi dheere-dheere chal raha tha.”
She remained mindful of the importance of board marks as well:
“Maine boards ko ignore nahi kiya, kyunki boards bhi important hain aur 75 percent ka criteria bhi hai.”
This balance allowed Khushi to work on her weaker areas, maintain regular subject practice and prepare for both JEE Main Paper 2 and her board requirements without losing focus.
Alongside her independent practice, Khushi used Physics Wallah resources to strengthen her Mathematics and Aptitude preparation. She specifically relied on the Lakshya JEE batch for Mathematics, using the lectures and learning resources to improve her understanding and support her regular practice.
“Maths ke liye maine Lakshya JEE batch liya tha.”
Her experience with the batch became an important part of her Mathematics preparation, particularly because she wanted to build her level of preparation beyond basic understanding and practise questions consistently.
“PW ne Maths mein bahut help ki. Lakshya batch ke bina shayad meri Maths itni achhi nahi hoti.”
Physics Wallah also supported her Aptitude preparation through topic-focused videos. Khushi found these resources useful for topics that required broader knowledge and visual understanding, including monuments and other areas covered in the Aptitude section.
“Aptitude mein bhi PW ke videos mere liye bahut helpful rahe, especially monuments aur lots of topics mein.”
By combining PW’s learning resources with her own practice, Khushi was able to strengthen the areas that mattered most for her JEE Main Paper 2 preparation. This combination of guided learning and consistent self-practice contributed to her 99.26 percentile achievement.
Exam pressure is natural, but Khushi Saraf believes students should not let anxiety or the fear of making mistakes affect their performance. Her advice is to stay calm, focus on the task in front of you and avoid rushing simply because you are worried about time.
“Anxiety toh hoti hai, but humein pressure mein aakar jaldi-jaldi nahi karna chahiye.”
She also encourages students to keep their thoughts positive during stressful moments instead of constantly thinking about what could go wrong.
“Humein calm rehna chahiye aur good things ke baare mein sochna chahiye.”
She further advises students not to lose confidence after an unsuccessful attempt. A setback can become another opportunity to improve and return with greater determination.
“Agar first attempt kharab bhi gaya hai, toh second attempt ek second chance hai. Give up mat karo.”
Most importantly, Khushi wants students to find motivation within themselves and remember why they are working towards their goal.
“Aapko khud ke liye karna hai. Jab andar se lagega ki ye mere liye hai aur meri life change hogi, tab aap apna 100% de paoge.”
Khushi Saraf’s 99.26 percentile in JEE Main Paper 2 reflects the value of consistent preparation, regular practice and a clear goal. From strengthening Mathematics and Aptitude with Physics Wallah to improving her drawing skills and balancing board exams, she stayed focused throughout her preparation. Her journey shows that confidence grows when you practise consistently, manage your time wisely and keep working towards the goal you have chosen.
