Vedansh Khandelwal secured the 98.66 percentile in JEE Main 2026 BArch, while managing school studies, pre-boards, board exams, and viva alongside his entrance exam preparation. With a clear goal of pursuing architecture, he followed a structured routine and dedicated fixed study hours to Architecture and JEE Maths every day.
With the support of PW’s Architecture Creators Pro Batch, regular DPPs, mock tests, and previous-year questions, Vedansh stayed consistent throughout his preparation. His journey shows how discipline, consistency, and smart time management can help students balance school and competitive exam preparation.
School students often struggle to find enough time for competitive exam preparation. Vedansh faced the same challenge, but instead of compromising on either school or JEE preparation, he divided his day into fixed slots.
He kept around two hours for Architecture and another two hours for JEE Maths. After completing these slots, he used the remaining time for school-related work.
Explaining his routine, Vedansh said:
“Main Architecture ka ek separate slot rakhta tha ki mujhe do ghante dene hi hain. Maths JEE ke liye bhi do ghante rakhta tha ki mujhe iske liye time dena hi hai. Phir jo baaki time hota tha, usmein main school wala part complete kar leta tha.”
For Vedansh, consistency was more important than simply counting the number of hours he studied.
Abhigyan’s JEE Main 2026 BArch Success Story
Vedansh had already developed an interest in design and creativity before he started preparing for the entrance exam.
He enjoyed working on site plans and taking up creative design challenges. After researching the field, he realised that architecture matched his interests and decided to pursue it.
Talking about his decision, Vedansh said:
“Sir, mera design mein pehle se interest tha. Creativity mein bhi interest tha. Main site plans aur aise creative kaam mein interested tha. Agar koi challenge milta tha, toh main usko design karke dene ki try karta tha.”
He further explained:
“Jab maine architecture ke baare mein research ki, toh mujhe laga ki ye mere liye right field hai. Isliye maine isi ke liye aage badhne ka decide kiya.”
Having clarity about his career goal helped Vedansh stay focused during his preparation.
Vedansh joined PW’s Architecture Creators Pro Batch around July and started preparing seriously from that time.
The batch helped him with different sections of the exam. He found the aptitude classes useful because his doubts could be addressed during the classes, and he could also get them resolved later when required.
Vedansh shared:
“Sir, maine Architecture Creators Pro Batch July ke around liya tha. Us time se maine apni preparation properly start kar di thi.”
Talking about the classes, he added:
“Aptitude jo aap padhate the, woh bhi achhe se hua. Jo doubts hote the, woh class mein solve ho jaate the. Baad mein agar koi doubt aata tha, toh woh bhi solve ho jaata tha.”
Regular DPPs and weekly tests also became an important part of his preparation.
“Regular DPPs milti thi aur weekly tests bhi hote the. Drawing ki classes Zoom par hoti thi, jo kaafi helpful thi, kyunki live doubt pooch sakte the aur apna work bhi teachers ko show kar sakte the.”
This regular practice helped him stay connected with the preparation and improve his performance.
Vedansh did not consider any particular subject a major weakness. He believed he was reasonably strong across the subjects.
However, he admitted that JEE-level Maths required comparatively more attention.
“Sir, aisa koi particular subject nahi tha jisme mujhe bahut zyada fear ho. Main saare subjects mein khud ko achha maanta tha. Bas JEE-level Maths thoda challenging lagta tha, but woh bhi mera achha hi tha.”
His approach was not to ignore the areas that needed more effort. Instead, he focused on giving the right amount of input to every section.
Vedansh considered mock tests and previous-year questions an important part of his preparation.
He understood that completing the syllabus was not enough. Students also need to test themselves to understand where they are strong and where they need more practice.
Explaining his approach, he said:
“Aap syllabus cover toh kar loge, but agar mock nahi doge aur khud ko test nahi karoge ki aap kahan weak ho aur kahan strong, toh phir koi fayda nahi hai.”
Vedansh attempted several mocks from PW and also solved the previous-year questions shared during his preparation.
“Maine PW ki taraf se jo mocks mile the, woh bhi bahut saare diye the. Jo previous-year questions aapne alag se share kiye the, woh bhi maine solve kiye.”
These tests helped him understand the exam pattern and prepare a clear strategy for the actual paper.
One of the biggest benefits of mock tests for Vedansh was that they helped him decide how to approach the actual exam.
After practising different approaches, he decided to attempt Maths first, followed by Aptitude, and Drawing at the end.
He explained:
“Mujhe samajh aa gaya tha ki main pehle Maths karunga, baad mein Aptitude aur last mein Drawing. Isse exam mein jaate time mereko koi extra pressure nahi tha.”
Since he had already decided his approach before entering the exam hall, he did not have to spend time thinking about which section to attempt first.
“Exam hall ka fear bhi nahi aaya, kyunki mujhe pehle se pata tha ki paper ko kaise approach karna hai.”
Vedansh said he never reached a point where he felt that he would not be able to achieve his goal.
His confidence came from believing in his own ability and continuing his preparation consistently.
“Sir, kabhi aisa feel hi nahi hua ki main nahi kar paunga ya nahi hoga. Mereko clear tha ki main karunga. Mere mein ability hai, main kar sakta hoon.”
His family also supported him throughout the preparation.
“Parents ka full support tha. Woh kehte the ki jo karna hai karo, full mehnat do. Agar aap mehnat karoge, toh result milega. Aur mujhe result bhi mila.”
This support helped Vedansh remain focused while balancing different responsibilities.
When asked what he would tell students preparing for JEE Main BArch, Vedansh kept his advice simple.
According to him, students should focus on discipline and consistency rather than seeking a complicated preparation strategy.
“Bhai, consistency aur discipline sabse important hai. Agar aap dono follow karoge, toh har cheez achievable hai. Kuch bhi impossible nahi hai.”
He also advised students not to look for a magical formula for success.
“Main hamesha bolta hoon ki koi magical formula nahi hota jisse saare questions solve ho jaayen. Aisa kuch complex nahi hai. Preparation ko simple rakho aur consistency ke saath aage badho.”
For future aspirants, his preparation strategy can be summed up as:
Discipline aur consistency maintain karein.
School aur entrance preparation ke liye fixed study slots banayein.
Maths aur Architecture ko dedicated time dein.
Regular DPPs aur tests solve karein.
Mock tests se apni preparation check karein.
Previous-year questions zaroor solve karein.
Exam se pehle apni section-wise strategy decide karein.
Preparation ko unnecessarily complicated na banayein.
Vedansh Khandelwal’s JEE Main 2026 BArch journey shows that school ke saath competitive exam preparation manage karna possible hai, provided students have a clear routine and follow it consistently.
Vedansh did not depend on extremely long study hours. Instead, he focused on discipline, consistency, fixed study slots, regular practice, mock tests, and PYQs. PW’s Architecture Creators Pro Batch also supported him through aptitude classes, DPPs, weekly tests, and drawing sessions.
Most importantly, Vedansh had clarity about his goal and kept his preparation simple.
His message to future aspirants is straightforward: “Consistency aur discipline follow karo, preparation ko simple rakho, aur apne goal ki taraf regularly aage badhte raho.”
