NID MDes 2025 Mains Result Recheck/Reevaluation Window
The NID MDes 2025 Mains Result recheck or reevaluation window will open immediately after the result declaration on May 6, 2025. It will remain available until May 7, 2025, 4:00 PM. During this period, candidates who want their DAT Mains answer scripts reviewed can submit a rechecking request through the official NID admissions portal by logging in with their credentials. Candidates have to pay a specified fee for result evaluation. The rechecking process will only verify whether all answers have been evaluated and if the marks have been correctly totaled and transferred.
Tie-Breaking Rule for NID MDes Mains Result 2025
In case two or more candidates obtain the same total marks, the NID MDes result is calculated based on the tie-breaking rule, explained below.
Candidates with higher marks in the DAT Mains will be given a higher rank.
If there is a tie, the candidate with higher marks in the DAT Mains Studio Test will be ranked higher.
If the tie continues, the candidate with higher marks in the DAT Prelims will be given preference.
If it persists, the candidate with higher marks in DAT Prelims Part II/III (subjective section) will get a higher rank.
After applying all the above rules, if the tie remains unresolved, the candidate with higher marks in the question carrying the highest marks in the DAT Mains will be ranked higher.
If none of the criteria breaks the tie, both candidates are given the same rank.
NID MDes Counselling 2025
The NID MDes Counselling 2025 will be conducted online by the National Institute of Design starting May 6, 2025, soon after the declaration of the MDes DAT Mains results. Shortlisted candidates do not need to submit campus preferences, unlike B.Des applicants. The seat allotment process will take place from May 6 to May 7, 2025, during which candidates must upload required documents and pay the admission fee to confirm their seat.
NID MDes Merit List 2025
The NID MDes Merit List 2025 is prepared by combining the weighted scores of candidates from both the DAT Prelims and DAT Mains exams, with 30% weightage given to DAT Prelims and 70% to DAT Mains. For each category and design specialization, separate merit lists will be published. Candidates who qualify both the MDes Prelims and Mains exams are listed on the merit list.
