NID DAT Admission Process 2025

The top colleges will grant admission to BDes and MDes courses based on your NID DAT merit scores 2025. The NID DAT admission process follows a structured route. It includes qualification in both NID DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. NID DAT Prelims is a pen-and-paper test conducted offline, while the DAT Mains include a studio test and, for M.Des aspirants, a personal interview. The NID result will be prepared based on cumulative weightage of marks obtained in DAT Prelims and Mains. Candidates shortlisted will then proceed with the NID counseling and seat allotment process.

National Institute of Design (NID)

The National Institute of Design (NID) is a group of premier autonomous public design institutions in India, established in 1961 with its primary campus in Ahmedabad. It comes under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry and is recognized as an Institution of National Importance under the NID Act of 2014. NID offers UG, PG and doctoral design courses in various streams like Industrial, Communication, Textile, and IT Integrated Design education and research. NID campuses include NID Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Assam. 

IILM School of Design

IILM School of Design, part of IILM University in Gurugram, located in Haryana. The institute was established in 2004 and provides various design streams including fashion design, interior design, and product design. Since the school is located at a prime location, it provides students with excellent industry exposure and opportunities for global learning. 

World University of Design

The World University of Design (WUD) is located in Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Sonipat, Haryana and offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in fields such as Design, Architecture, Fashion, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, and Business. The university also accepts the scores obtained in UCCED 2025 and NIFT 2025 entrance exam for BDes admissions. 

Pearl Academy

Pearl Academy is one of India’s leading private institutions offering design courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels with various campuses around the country. The institute also conducts its own entrance examinations named Pearl Academy Entrance Exam to shortlist candidates. Candidates can also use their NID DAT 2025 scorecard to get admission under BDes courses at the university. 

Shiv Nadar University

Shiv Nadar University (SNU), established in 2011, is a private Institution of Eminence located in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh. Founded by Shiv Nadar, the chairman of HCL, the university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across diverse fields such as engineering, natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, and management. Along with NID DAT, the institute also considers CEED scorecard for admission to postgraduate design programs.
