UPSC Age Calculator 2024

UPSC Age Calculator 2025: The Union Public Service Commission has set strict age and attempt criteria for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) . Any candidate who is more than the age limit set by UPSC for their respective category can not apply for the IAS exam.

The UPSC Age Calculator is a tool designed to help candidates determine their eligibility based on their age and category. With the help of UPSC Age Calculator 2025 candidates can find out the whether they are eligible or not for their target UPSC CSE exam.

UPSC Age Calculator 2025

According to the UPSC eligibility criteria mentioned in the official notification, the age is calculated as of August 1st of the respective year. This means that if a candidate is applying for the USPC 2025 exam then her or his age will be calculated as of 1st August 2025. Therefore, if he is more than 32 years old in the general category on August 1st, he will not be eligible to fill out the application form. The date for the UPSC age limit is not the same as the exam date. For instance, the UPSC IAS 2025 Prelims exam date is May 25, 2025, but the age limit will be calculated as of August 1st, 2025. Hence, all candidates must be not less than 21 years old on this date and must not be more than the upper age limit in their respective category to apply for the exam.

UPSC Age Calculator

According to the UPSC age limit , a candidate must not be less than 21 years and must not be more than 32 years as of August 1st. While the minimum age limit is the same for all categories, the upper age limit is relaxed for certain categories such as the OBC, SC, ST, and PwBD. The upper age limit relaxation considered in the UPSC Age Calculator for the IAS exam is given below:

Other Backward Classes (OBC): Not more than 35 years old on August 1st.

Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST): Not more than 37 years old on August 1st.

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years of age relaxation in their respective categories. This means not more than 42 years for General, 45 years for OBC, and 47 years for SC/ST candidate.

To calculate your age using the UPSC IAS Age Calculator, go through the age relaxation provided to your respective category in the UPSC notification and check your age as of August 1st of the exam year.
