Petroleum Engineering

Petroleum Engineering (PE) - Petroleum Engineering is the production and extraction of hydrocarbons, such as natural gas and crude oil, is the focus of the mining engineering subfield. India is the third-largest user of oil and gas in the world, and demand for these resources will probably grow in the upcoming  years.

In India, there is a high demand for petroleum engineers to help address this growing need. Additionally, the Indian government has announced plans to increase domestic oil and gas output, which will probably lead to an increase in the country's demand for petroleum engineers.

What is Petroleum Engineering?

The extraction of crude oil and natural gas is the primary goal of the technical discipline known as petroleum engineering. Processes are developed and created by petroleum engineers to extract oil and gas from reserves located beneath the Earth's surface. Additionally, they create novel methods for extracting gas and oil from old wells. Undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programs are all available in the discipline of petroleum engineering. There are numerous universities and research centres in India that provide courses in petroleum engineering.

Petroleum Engineering Highlights

The production and exploration of hydrocarbons from deep inside the earth are the focus of the interdisciplinary field of petroleum engineering, which deals with the application of knowledge from chemical engineering, geology, and structural engineering.
