GATE Registration 2026:The registration for GATE 2026, conducted by IIT Guwahati, has officially ended with the last date extended to October 13, 2025, including the late fee window. Candidates who successfully registered can now prepare for the upcoming exam scheduled for February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. The admit cards will be released in January 2026, and the exam will be held in two shifts each day across multiple centers nationwide. Key details like the addition of new subjects, relaxed eligibility criteria, and option to choose two papers make GATE 2026 an important opportunity for aspiring postgraduate engineering and science students as well as PSU job seekers. Candidates are advised to keep track of the release of admit cards and other important updates from the official GATE portal.
The GATE 2026 registration deadline with a late fee ended on October 13, 2025. Candidates had the opportunity to apply online through the official GOAPS portal until this date after the regular registration ended on October 7, 2025. Those who missed the initial deadline could still register by paying an additional late fee. This marked the final chance for aspirants to secure their eligibility for the GATE exam, which is scheduled to be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. It is crucial for candidates to ensure their application details are correct as no further registrations will be accepted beyond the deadline.
GATE Registration 2026 Dates Extended
As per the IIT Guwahati, the registration deadline for GATE 2026 is October 7, 2025, allowing candidates to submit their application forms without a late fee. For those who miss this regular window, applications will be accepted with a late fee until October 13, 2025. All registrations should be completed online through the official portal, gate2026.iitg.ac.in. Applicants need to log in using their Enrollment ID and password to fill and submit the form. Step 1- GATE Registration 2026
The first step is to enter personal details in order to register via the GATE online application processing system (GOAPS) using the GATE Registration 2026 link. Applicants will be required to enter the following details to complete this initial step:

Password for Future Login
Note: In case of delay in receiving the OTP (One-Time Password), applicants can proceed with payment after verifying either the email ID or mobile number. The remaining verification should be completed at a later stage.
Step 2- Filling Out GATE 2026 Application Form
The next step is to fill out the GATE Application Form 2026 by logging into the official website with an enrollment ID and password obtained after GATE Registration 2026. However, before jumping into how to fill out the application form, here are the essential documents that should be handy during the process:
Personal Details : The applicant's name, father’s and mother's names, date of birth, nationality, etc.
Academic Detail : Details related to academic qualifications from high school until graduation.
Communication Details : Residential address as well as the permanent address.

To successfully complete the GATE Registration 2026 Procedure, applicants must proceed with the payment of the application fees. The GATE application fee varies for Indian nationals and international applicants, and it can be exclusively settled through net banking, credit card, or debit card. It's important to note that the GATE 2026 registration process no longer accepts e-challans as a viable payment option. For those falling under the SC/ST/PwD category, uploading valid documentary evidence is mandatory to avail of fee concessions. Retrieving GATE Registration 2026 Enrollment ID and Password
Following a successful GATE Registration 2026 on the website, applicants are provided with unique GATE Login 2026 credentials, consisting of an enrollment ID and password. In case these details are misplaced or forgotten, applicants can recover them by following the steps outlined below.
Step 1: Go to the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) homepage- https://goaps.iitg.ac.in/.
Step 2: Choose 'Forgot GATE 2026 Enrollment or Registration ID.'
Step 3: If applicants can recall their registered email address but not their enrollment or registration ID, start the process by choosing 'Request for an OTP' to get a one-time password.
