The online application process for IIT JAM 2024 counselling has been extended, allowing candidates to register and fill out the application form till April 29, 2024. - Release of Admission Lists and Ranks : The conducting IIT will release the admission lists for IIT JAM 2024 along with the opening and closing ranks. These ranks will determine the chances of candidates getting admission to their preferred institutes.
- Call for Counselling : Qualified candidates will be called for the IIT JAM 2024 counselling process. They must ensure that they are available during the counselling period.

- Seat Allotment : Based on the candidate's preferences, ranks, and availability of seats, the IIT JAM 2024 seat allotment will be done.
- Reporting to the Allotted Institute : After the seat allotment, candidates must report to the allotted institute and complete the admission formalities, which include paying the required fees and depositing the necessary documents.
Documents Required For IIT JAM Counselling 2024
Candidates called for IIT JAM 2024 counselling must present a set of documents for verification and admission. IIT JAM 2024 Choice Locking
Candidates need to pay the CCMN 2024 Registration Fees first. After paying, they can add, remove, or change the order of their preferred colleges in the saved list until the specified CCMN Choice Locking deadline. During this period, they can modify their college choices as per their preferences. However, once the CCMN choice locking deadline arrives, they must finalise and lock their selected colleges. After locking the choices, they cannot make any further modifications to their applied college list. In case a candidate fails to lock their choices before the deadline, their last saved list of colleges will be automatically considered for the next counselling round. It is crucial for the candidates to be aware of the deadlines and manage their college choices accordingly to ensure a smooth admission process.IIT JAM Counselling 2024 Seat Allotment
In the IIT JAM Counselling 2024 process, candidates will secure their seats based on their IIT JAM 2024 Result, IIT JAM 2024 Cut Off , and the overall number of participants in the exam. During the first round of seat allotment, it is mandatory for the candidates to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee or CCMN Seat Acceptance Fee, regardless of their satisfaction with the allotted seat. Following each round, a separate CCMN Seat Allotment List will be published, which will contain the roll numbers, names, and allotted seat details of the candidates.IIT JAM Counselling 2024 Seat Acceptance Options Available
In the IT JAM Counselling 2024 process, candidates have three Seat Acceptance options. These options allow them to make decisions about their admission based on their preferences and the available institutes.- Freeze Option : Candidates who select the Freeze option are satisfied with the course and college they have been allotted. They confirm their admission to the chosen institute without seeking any upgrades or changes. By choosing this option, they commit to pursuing their education at the allotted college and course.
- Float Option : The Float option is suitable for candidates who want to explore better opportunities in subsequent counselling rounds. By choosing this option, they express their willingness to accept an upgraded seat at a more preferred institute if one becomes available. However, if they do not receive an upgraded seat, they will be required to accept the previously allotted seat.
- Slide Option : The Slide option is for candidates who are content with the institute they have been allotted but wish to upgrade their course within the same institute. By selecting this option, they indicate that they would like to be considered for a better course at the same college, if available. If they are not offered a better course, they will have to accept the previously allotted seat.
IIT JAM Counselling 2024 Seat Rejection Options Available
In the IIT JAM Counselling 2024, if a candidate is not satisfied with the seat, they have been allocated through the Centralised Counselling for M.Sc./M.Sc. Tech (CCMN), can opt for the 'Surrender and Participate in the next round' choice. This decision allows the candidate to be a part of the subsequent counselling round while giving up their claim on the presently assigned seat. However, if the candidate does not receive a seat in the following round, they will lose their chance to secure admission in the seat they were initially given through CCMN. In such circumstances, these candidates must participate in the Vacant Seat Round (CCMN 2024 Spot Round) to try and secure a seat for admission.IIT JAM Counselling 2024 Withdrawal of Application
Candidates who wish to withdraw from the IIT JAM CCMN 2024 counselling process can participate in the 'Withdrawal of Application Form' option. If candidates choose this option, they will not be able to participate in any round of IIT JAM 2024 Counselling. As a result, the seat allotted in the current round will be reassigned to some other candidate. In case of withdrawal, CCMN 2024 seat acceptance fee/seat allotment fee will be refunded to the candidate. However, IIT JAM CCMN counselling fee will not be refunded.IIT JAM Counselling 2024 Opening and Closing Ranks
