Increased Questions
The previous year's XAT exam paper included 99 questions. However, the total number of questions has been raised to 101-102. The descriptive essay writing test, which was eliminated in 2019, is reinstated for XAT exam 2024.
Question Paper Structure
The XAT exam paper is divided into four sections with MCQs and one section with the Essay Writing Test. The General Knowledge section with 25 questions is not considered for percentile calculation.
In the XAT exam 2024, candidates with visual impairments and scribes will get an extra 25 minutes to complete the questions in Part 1.
Marking Scheme
Candidates get a +1 mark for each correct answer and -0.25 for wrong answers. However, there is no negative marking for the General Knowledge and Essay writing section in Part 3. The essay will be assessed after the candidate is shortlisted for the interview.
PwD candidates can submit their answers between 165 minutes and 220 minutes for Part 1 and between 15 to 20 minutes for Part 2. This time allotment allows PwD candidates extra time to complete the exam, and they are allowed to leave the lab between 190 minutes and 240 minutes based on the test completion time.
