For example, a 40-watt bulb consumes electricity at 40 watts. If you switch on this light bulb for an hour, you have consumed 40 watt hours - 0.04 kilowatt hours. For instance, a light bulb labeled 60 watts consumes electrical energy faster rate than a 40-watt bulb, leading to a brighter illumination. Electricity measures how many kilowatts are spent in a given time. In other words, the more power an appliance has, the more wattage it consumes.
