NMC Adopts New Logo: According to NMC officials, the new logo, which features a colored photograph of Dhanvantri in the center, has been in use for nearly a year. The previous black-and-white version had visibility issues, particularly in printouts, and was thus replaced with a more vibrant representation.
The modified logo has not avoided comparisons to the World Health Organization's (WHO) emblem, which combines the UN logo with a serpent and staff. Long used as symbols in medicine, the staff and serpent originate in the mythology of Asclepius, the ancient Greek god of healing. Interestingly, the NMC logo uses the word "Bharat" instead of "India" explicitly. The Indian Medical Association's Kerala chapter has voiced criticism of the new logo despite there having been no formal announcement about it.Check NEET UG Important Links
