The Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM) serves as the gateway for students aspiring to represent India at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
IOQM is the first stage of the Mathematical Olympiad Programme in India, aimed at nurturing and identifying mathematical talent among pre-university students.
IOQM is organized by the Mathematics Teachers Association of India (MTAI) in close collaboration with the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE).
IOQM 2025 encourages mathematical problem-solving skills and creativity, providing national exposure to young mathematicians. Students who score high are qualified for the next stage i.e. RMO.
A total of 30 questions are asked in the IOQM Exam 2025.
The IOQM exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode.
Each question must be answered with an integer between 00 and 99. One or two numbers are used to answer each question in the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics.

Students must be born between August 1, 2006 and July 31, 2013.
They must be studying in Class 8, 9, 10, 11 or 12 in any recognized in Indian school
Students must have an Indian passport. Students with an OCI card are also provisionally eligible.
Students must have been residing and studying in India since October 30, 2023, or earlier, or must be studying in an Indian school system since that date.
They should not have qualified or appeared for the 12th grade examination before October 30, 2025.
Students must not have started their studies at a university or equivalent institution before June 1 2025.
The student must ensure that he meets the eligibility requirements stated. If during the program it is discovered that the student does not meet these criteria, the student may be rejected.
