History of National Bird Day

The day aims to raise awareness about the struggles faced by birds, particularly those affected by illegal trade and captivity. Millions of birds are captured or bred for profit under poor conditions that disregard their welfare. National Bird Day serves as a platform to educate the public about the many threats birds face, including habitat destruction, climate change, and illegal trading practices.
