Indian Army Honours and Awards 2025: India’s 79th Independence Day has been celebrated on 15th August 2025. This day marks the remembrance of the national heroes who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence. President Smt Droupadi Murmu has given her approval for the Indian Army Honours and Awards 2025. It includes 127 Gallantry awards and 40 Distinguished Service awards on Independence Day. On the eve of Independence Day 2025, a total of 127 Gallantry Awards and 40 Distinguished Service Awards were conferred upon Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces personnel.
The gallantry awards included 4 Kirti Chakras, 15 Vir Chakras, 16 Shaurya Chakras, 2 Bar to Sena Medals (Gallantry), 58 Sena Medals (Gallantry), 6 Nao Sena Medals (Gallantry), and 26 Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry). Distinguished Service decorations comprised 7 Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medals, 9 Uttam Yudh Seva Medals, and 24 Yudh Seva Medals.
